It appears this may be true, from a few tests I ran earlier this year, but has never been tested fully (to my knowledge).

A little 'undocumented feature' I found; the Caldonians in the game I'm currently playing came with Level 6 energy structures. How they managed this I haven't a clue. They ae the only Minor I've membered so far that have an energy structure with a level still associated.

Thanks for the feedback, and I look forward to 1.1b. :D I'll answer the 'why?' for Ferengi CS's having medium range instead of long. With the advantage they have in money, and the advantage they have in long range CS's, the Ferengi can have most of a large map colonized by turn 150 starting from T1....

After some extensive playtesting of each of the races, I love the newest version of the mod, however, I think the AI got broken. The Romulans, and it seems the Ferengi also, neither builds extra farms. The Ferengi aren't as noticible, because of the second farms they start with. The Klingons do not ...

I believe it's an extension of how Gowron gets the minors to grow more slowly. You're correct that it really makes you reconsider accepting those early membership treaties from the mintakans. The system may be a 400 pop max, but it's going to take 200 turns to get there...

You are correct. Your trials 'suggested' the results I'm quoting as fact. :) And it's only because the results make logical sense (-50 to +100% difference is half to double) that I believe them to be perfectly true. Until someone disproves them of course. ;)

That's pretty weird alright!

Also, I left one tiny detail out in the above post. The TT force should have twice the value +1. So 200 vs 100 still has a chance of failure. 201 vs 100, should never lose. So long as our calculations are right of course. ;)

The rule of thumb seems to be (based on the findings in another thread) bring enough TT's so that you have twice the ground attack as the system has in defense. So in your first example RF, if your TT value is only 40, and Qo'Nos has a 509 in defense, you need (509*2)/40 = 26 TT's to guarantee succe...

It seems Romulan systems really are not growing. They get stuck at ~48 with food bonuses giving a small increase to the pop. This leads me to believe that they aren't producing farms on new colonies. Did farms perhaps accidentally get left out of the Romulan build order in 1.1a?
