Re: Forum Pulse: What Star Trek Technology Would You Most Li
Transporter would be handy for my needs, especially during the summer months when I occasionally have to tow a trailer full of awkward equipment across country. No more hours of faffing around, swearing in several languages at traffic and idiotic sat-navs, just car it all onto the pad and be where I...

Re: Combat mechanics
Tactical choices might well swing the odds as well if there's two evenly matched sides fighting one another. Certain tactical moves are supposedly very effective against some choices the opponent makes and work poorly against other moves the opponent makes. For example, you set your fleet to charge ...

Re: Forum Pulse: To Accept Global Surrender Or Not?
Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. It depends on how the game's panning out. If everything's smashed and broken I'll accept. If I've got a serious opponent to deal with still or having a day where I'm just sitting back and seeing just how much damage I can do with intel alone then it's another ma...

Re: Noobish question. I would value any insight you have.
Truth be told, I go for the same approach whatever level I start at. I get 4 or 5 colony ships and troop ships build first, then concentrate on building a battle fleet while they're off hoovering up the nearby systems. I don't go off exploring, I keep my ships close to home so I can stay off of the ...

Re: The real galactic map of the Milky Way
Well the game already allows for a spiral configuration for the galaxy (it shows up best on the larger maps) and to create the conditions you want for the core ought to be easy: Just load up a load of black holes and neutron stars in the area, thus killing scanning abilities and having the potential...

Re: Something i've never seen
Yeah, I've seen that before as well (although as 'chero noted, it's fairly rare). It only occurs in systems with high morale, and only when random events are enabled. This. In twelve years I've seen this three times. To be fair, it might have happened more often, but I weren't paying attention. I t...

Re: Forum Pulse: Your Preferred Web Browser
It's become an ever more irritating bloated pos that likes to burn my ageing CPU to the ground on a daily basis. I've been toying with junking it for something else. (Not Chrome.)cleverwise wrote: Firefox seems to be a dying browser which is unfortunate.

Anyone with science and anyone with intel capabilities are always high on my radar. I tend to stay compact until I have my industry researched up high so anyone who'll help that go by faster is good for me

Re: What is the most useless minor race in the original game
Mizarians are all right. They're easy to incorporate however you want to and because of their Monument of Surrender you'll have one a system that rivals the home system for morale so they're very productive if they have a decent size system. I'd much rather have them than half the other races in the...

Re: Empire AI wishlist
Closest thing the Ferengi have to the bounty idea is the war pact. I can't remember if you can give credits to those you are proposing to sign a pact with, but failing that, you could gift the heck out of them till they have a high standing then, get them to sign a pact and watch them dismantle whoe...

Re: Other race's colonies on your border
Raid, pester and annoy your oppo until they declare war. Then take care of the colony while wailing upon their fleet or outposts. That way you won't suffer from declaring war and while you're being kicked for bombardment, you're offsetting that with combat victories.
