Re: all in one installer?

Thanks for the link.

Just watched the video.

I like the idea but wouldn't updating of the installer be time consuming? Or are you able to just flip a module out after you did some modding?

Re: all in one installer?

Not sure what the video shows as I can't watch it. A normal link would be nice instead of something which runs natively through the site. html5 is preferred.

Re: star trek online

doubtful decision to port it to consoles. I'd put more ressources into the PC version and make this one better. I'm pretty sure that PC has a larger userbase of original ST fans who could be reactivated by meaningful updates rather than gathering new console users. All in all questionable.

Re: BotF installer

well, open testing meant for me that the discussion was over. hence my thread. good to know the installer got faster. Is it still ultra compressed? If yes, reducing the compression a bit will make it a bit faster, too. ^^

Re: New CBS ST TV Series Teaser Coming in 2017

well, this show needs to offer something new besides, new heroes, new villains, etcpp. We - as Trekkies - are super critical and have high expectations. And rightly so. This show will be torn apart if it isn't anything ST-like as we know it; if it doesn't carry Gene's spirit in some way. All the CGI...

BotF installer

I don't know why this topic is already locked. However, what I'd like to see are two things which would speed up the installation progress quite a bit. - ultra compression isn't needed and slows down by a lot most of the files are compressed anyway (the res file comes to mind) and it's just a waste ...

Re: ST still is...

A late answer from me. I've been busy lately and didn't expect any replies. So, at first I'd like to thank you for taking your time answering me. Oh dear pal...I really hope you're ok...this post concerns me a bit. And even if I am more of a lurker and reader when it comes to Internet Forums in gene...

ST still is...

in our hearts: http://whatistng.ytmnd.com/ (this fad looks funny but truly isn't... - just posted it for the old times sake) Seriously. JJ was the downfall. I defended "it" before it came out. I didn't think that ST could be killed. But now we're here. :( ST is pretty much dead at this point. All of...

Re: Keyboard commands suddenly not working

I think it occurred to me in another game at some time. My guess is an UI/Fullscreen/Windowed bug. May be in correlation with Windows Aero.

Usually, tabbing out and focussing the program back to primary fullscreen mode should do the trick.

Re: Are the Ferengi "lucky"?

The funny thing about the human brain is, that esp. when it comes to randomness, we're trying to see patterns when there are none. So, you might've gotten lucky 9 out of 10 times as Fergs when it was just 1/10 as Cards. But due to randomness it doesn't really mean anything. You could get lucky 100 t...

Re: Windows 10 - Worse Windows Ever!

Thanks for your answer.

I've got a couple of questions, though.

Isn't the open nature of Linux a major security risk by itself?

And as Linux is so popular on servers, is it safe to assume that the client side automatically does benefit from this heightened security aspect of servers as well?

Re: Windows 10 - Worse Windows Ever!

Well, I held a dissertation many years ago about Ubuntu. It shouldn't be a problem to get it running on a stick. It'd be interesting to know what size Ubuntu utilizes. And as I'm going to buy a couple of new drives soon, I'm giving it a try again. Would be interesting to see how things have changed....

Re: Windows 10 - Worse Windows Ever!

I'm defending the view of the consumer. For people who work in IT, it's way more easy to switch to Linux. A lot of people have done it and with the set of skills one need to have, it isn't that overly hard. IT guys can deal with problems and fix them. Prolly the reason Linux got popular on servers. ...
