I'm more interested in why the Beta Quadrant is somehow in the Alpha Quadrant or vice versa. Romulan space staddles the border between them. :p And? You're talking about what is supposed to be correct from the Star Trek canon and I agree. It's also irrelevant. The Prometheus isn't in the Bet...

He said "at least." And would you trust Harry with anything?

Geez Louise, it was just an idea, not my pet theory. I'm more interested in why the Beta Quadrant is somehow in the Alpha Quadrant or vice versa.

No sphere aperture was apparent on the cube in Best of Both Worlds. The writers just messed up in Unimatrix Zero. At that point in the Star Trek franchise, canon and fact checking weren't what they used to be...

Re: What caused the Romulan isolation?

In VOY ‘Hunters’ we get a startling bit of information concerning the stations making up this sensor network. KIM: Commander, if my sensors are right, that station is using a quantum singularity as it's power source. PARIS: A black hole? KIM: It's a tiny one, probably about a centimetr...

Funny, but seen it before and I'm pretty sure those answers are not real. If they were real, it's highly unlikely any answer would have a sequel (the "come naked" joke.)

I can't read the language that site is in, but as for the obelisks -- they are some remnants / artifacts of a super-advanced civilization. Contact with them has the effect of transferring advanced knowledge or power. It made the apes warlike to eventually evolve into men. It made humans able to tran...

Uh, not everyone has maximum experience, efficiency and strategy. Even Average can be hard if you don't do things properly. Personally I still play on Hard because I'm STILL learning things even after many games.

I don't know, Q's statement about Guinan not being what she appears to be seems pretty definitive. More than that - the "dealings" she had with the Q were 100 years BEFORE she encountered the Nexus. That pretty much proves that the Nexus isn't the reason for Q's statement, even if it could...

Ha, I just don't see Guinan or any El-Aurian having that kind of power. I see it more as a Q-counterspell. Their entire planet couldn't stop the Borg invasion. Nor could they apparently see it coming, and flee in advance. I read an interesting theory just now -- Guinan (and presumably Soren) have sp...

Yes but since the Federation is 4000-8000LY wide, that kind of difference is expected. They weren't at Starbase 185 when they were flung. 8) Starbase 185... must be a lonely place. Just sitting out there at the edge of the Federation... waiting for the Borg to attack. (Someone should write a n...

Haha. I can just imagine El-Aurian Borg facing down Q and stoically holding their fingers up. Anyway, we haven't seen El-Aurians use any overt powers other than defensive or perceptive ones: Guinan - senses changes in timeline (TNG - Yesterday's Enterprise), senses Q's presence (TNG - Q Who), ...

geon - interesting. Perhaps the Federation is 8000LY long and 4000LY wide? Anyway, if I use 6000LY as an intermediate radius, that gives about 1.4% of the Alpha quadrant. Incidentally, inside a 1.4% area of a quadrant there could be maybe 300 million stars. Not many life-supporting planets out there...

I guess "the other side of the galaxy" is a pretty open-ended phrase, considering that the Delta quadrant borders the Beta quadrant, and that according to the graphic shown, Voyager was somewhat close to the border of the Beta quadrant by then - say maybe 20% of a quadrant away from the bo...

I looked up some info about the theorized shape of the Milky Way. There doesn't seem to be agreement on it. Many say it has 6 spiral arms and a somewhat barred center, others think it's irregular "like a warped vinyl record" but their theories as to the cause are the usual stupidity - dark...

Definitely feudal, I'd say feudal oligarchy. Warring houses, some of which have seats on the high council.
