Coming back to the scene of the Enterprise jettisoning it's warp cores. Leaving aside the minor fact the shockwave ought to have turned the ship inside out, (especially as we've seen the structural integrity severely compromised i.e the cracks in the bulkheads and view screen) In the time between t...

The more I think of this film the more comicly terrible the script writing becoms IMO. LOL. Yes, "comical" is a good adjective. My sister liked the movie, so at first I thought maybe I was being too harsh, maybe it had to sink in more, maybe I was stuck in the past etc. But the more I digest the mo...

I saw "Star Trek" today ...... :? The storyline was poor, the writing was bad, and the acting was just as stiff & awkward as it sometimes was in the previous series/films....but without even the fun camp/cheese that helped make Trek enjoyable. This is precisely correct. I really cannot comprehend ho...

If you get bored, or want more ideas or concepts, also check out the following games (if you haven't already) Master of Magic Master of Orion II Those are some of the most addictive and near-perfect turn-based strategy games Microprose ever created. Any TBS developer would be well advised to know AL...

Money is just paper which is a representation of actual economic value. If the government printed everyone in the US 1 million dollars, it would be an introduction of 300 trillion new dollars into the money supply. No actual economic value is created, just paper. (aside: In March 2006, they stopped ...

It looks interesting. I visited your gamespot page, heh. I doubt a few stray visits will matter though... Glad there are still turn-based games being made. Personally I don't like RTS, too much stress. I play games to relax, not to get stressed out. RTS and TBS are really different kinds of games en...

I don't support the stealing of DS9 seasons... you can get them used for about $40 a season on Amazon. It's the best Star Trek series and you will realize that when you watch it from beginning to end a couple times. No other series touched that depth of characterization and storylines. It's well wor...

Never said it could stand up. Just that it had an advantage from being different. I see it as a likely factor as to why Voyager's shields weren't penetrated on a single strike from a weapon of that power. I guess you could also say some of the force was deflected by Voyager physically flying backwar...

Re: How good is the 8472 bioship?

the stats for a bioship should make it slightly more superior to the latest class of normal Borg cube. In other words, in any one on one battle, the bioship will destroy the cube, but take heavy damage in the process. In a battle with a Tactical Cube, it will be an even contest. Talk about an in-de...

That's not really an accurate portrayal. He died alone in a hotel room, and had his "death ray" research in various safes. I don't like the US government much but I'd rather them seize possible designs for a death ray than have them floating around all over the place. Whether they also got his gravi...

I like some of the EU theories, particularly mass and gravity being secondary properties of electromagnetism, but I think he takes it way too far. There's some fast star orbits they have observed at the center of the galaxy, which provide pretty strong evidence of black holes... err it was on this b...

Good if you are desperate for dilithium I guess? I designate worlds as either "production" or "research/intelligence." I don't separate research and intelligence, I don't see a great benefit to that. The only real benefit I see is putting intelligence on any conquered worlds because it doesn't suffe...

Well, many people didn't believe space could be curved by gravity/mass until it was proven. And saying such and such particle is not known to exist isn't much of a deterrant. I'm quite convinced that there are a lot of things that exist that we still don't know about, otherwise we'd have formed a pr...

Better question - when and if do you decide to build starbases? Personally I have never seen much of a need. By the time I can build a starbase, I usually have a significant fleet, and I'd rather spend the extra 75 or so maintenance points on more fleet instead of more stationary base.
