That is a work around yes, but just be warned. once your mod is created into an installer, all the vanilla gifs will still be present in the stbof.res. This is not a problem unless the user loads your mod with UE and uses the "register texture" button. (they should not need to do this if ...

That seemed to fix the problem. I have also developed a workaround to the stray palette issue. Instead of adding ships, I made all of the ships use the Calamarian Cloud (excluding the monsters). This left me with 9 ships in use. I then deleted all the vanilla ship files instead of replacing them and...

this maybe a problem with the ship pack not the lower palette files. try a different ship pack. I know there was 1 ship pack that gave this error. thunderchero I seem to get it on every add/delete/replace I do. I played a few turns after I added and it didn't seem to affect the game when I took one...

Well after a false start, I'm backing up and starting over. At one point I was up to 175 palettes and manually dropping them down was getting very tedious. This time, I'm doing ships first so I deal with the palette issue and a fix by Thunderchero will help with that. Keep at it bambi! 175 palettes...
