The trick is to only gift when you can do it for 3 or 4 turns in a row with maxed gift. Then you can offer friendship with money attached.

Ok, was curious why the asteroid outpost only had +3 scan instead of advertised +6 scan. I looked at buildings on dom homeworld and saw a relay station with +3 scan. So I scrapped that and next turn, voila, +6 scan from asteroid outpost. So, scan things should be in the form of upgrades and not sepe...

Something else to consider:

With such large shields/hulls in the mods, the ship with the bigger hull can have 0 torps and 0 phasors and will still win the battle.

I agree that card needs ram in certain mods, but that could easily be remedied. And for those who might think I'm against ram because I lost a game to it; I won the UDM tournament because of card ram. i would definitely suggest making it like udm/udmL. udmL is better suited to single play, 200+ turn mp games are very rare.
