Well thanks Locustus. And regarding your last comment I already am, in a sense - I am one of the developers on the Supremacy project (botf2). I was never personally happy with UM4, too many unresolved instabilities. The over all vision of the mod was fine, but the execution was not. Regarding the ne...

Thanks for the reply thunder. Yes that map is from BoP. I will insert that code and see what difference it makes. What is supposed to happen exactly, a more even spread of minors? And yes I know what you mean. I relished playing on a larger map, and when the chance came I found that time and again i...

Although I love playing a large map now, has anyone else discovered that, due to the ponderously slow rate that the AI develops the rival empires it can be hundreds of turns until you even meet them? In the large map size for BoP mod I've experienced several games in a row where I've maxed out every...

They all look fantastic so far! However there is one thing missing I think. Atmospheres. If you could add a soft halo of atmosphere to each planet then that would be the cherry on the cake so to speak. Something akin to this, which is a sample line up of the planet types I had in preparation for Sup...

Very nice work, looks fantastic. I made a ton of new planet animations a while back for use in the various Botf2 projects. One day I planned to strip the frames for conversion and replace some of the planet graphics in a mod, as you have. Check em out if you like, see what you think of mine. (I coul...

Thanks thunder. Just to let you know I had another go at this, and it seems I may have cracked it. I think somehow I must have been working unknowingly with a corrupt .res, or something -- a major clue being that each time I loaded the unmodded BoP .res and .exe into UE I received an error message s...

Thanks thunder, yeh everything is correct and by the the book, as far as UE is concerned. I cannot imagine what the problem is - as the crash will occur either in the Ship building screen, or the ship viewing panel. I used the multinstaller btw, could there have been a problem with that? Maybe you c...

Well I found the source of the dwwin.exe error which proceeds to hang and crash the game upon entering Ship Building, it's due to the fact that Gowron's trek.exe cannot be added to/amended in regards to new ship slots (not the way I did it anyway, which was with DCER's UE and Add/Remove models). It ...

Thanks for the reply thunder. I don't think it can be a tga bit count problem with the ship build screen. I ran a UE integrity check, and it did find one instance where a tga was wrong, but the crash seems to happen every time with every empire. I'll have to do some more testing, and investigating, ...

Even though my obvious blunder regarding the subspace resonantor has been solved, the dwwin.exe error has not. It continued to occur a few times in the energy screen and I have no idea why. I really hope it isnt a corrupt OS as you suggest ruthlessferengi, this is a reasonably new install. For now I...

Hey Moe! Yeh mate I'm sorry, I do of course look in from time to time, but tbh of late I've been so busy with other stuff in life, there's hardly been any time for Botf. I guess now with the fantastic breakthroughs Gowron has made it was time to re-install the original game and check out all the new...

Another plea for help
Well I'm back looking to mod again (UM5 may happen yet), but it's been a while, and to be honest I'm finding it a bit tricky! I'm still finding my way round DCER's fantastic UE, it's so nice not having to worry so much about the intricacies of hex editing... Anyway. I've hit a problem. After a few t...
