Minor Race bug, or part of the game?
First off, thanks to whomever discovered the hexadecimal fix that allows you to contact minor races that are a part of another empire once you sign a friendship or greater treay with them. However, I notice that if a minor race rebels against its oppressors, you are then unable to send any treaties ...

I'm playing a Cardassian game now, and I agree that they are pretty hard...I'm in the tail end of the game where it's just me and the Federation...and it's pretty much a stalemate! Actually, if the Federation were more agressive I'd be in trouble but I now have to figure out a way to improve my rese...

From my surfing the net, the minority on this forum is the majority worldwide... One thing you can be sure of is that canon as you know it is kaput, gone, extinct. All of what you know happened in another timeline that pretty much ended when James Kirk's father died fighting Nero. I guess right now,...

Spoilers within, but if you've come this far in the thread, you've probably already seen the movie. I enjoyed reading all the comments here, both the ones for and against the movie, and I can understand where most everyone is coming from in their post. I'm not hating on anyone's position on the movi...

Spoiler in reply to Bradbru Hope you're seen the movie... I disagree that it violates canon. It reboots it, by making this movie's universe a parallel to the one that's been established (how else is Leonard Nimoy's Spock still in existence and still has memories of all that's happened?) I'm not goin...

Thoughts on the new "Star Trek" movie
A little background: I have never really seen any of the original episodes. My intro to Star Trek was with TNG and I've always been a fan of Picard and crew, followed by DS9 which I think was the best Star Trek series ever. Voyager was something I'd watch when I was able, but I didn't have strong fe...

DS9 is the best Star Trek series ever made, in my humble opinion. I agree that Season 4 is where it really took off, but that doesn't mean you should toss Seasons 1-3. It's good to get an idea of how the characters are/were fleshed out before the whole Dominion arc started. FYI, you can get episode ...

I played the Romulan Tutorials, and went on with it after the tutorials ended. I don't recall how it ended up, but I remember that I didn't know how to create a starbase from an outpost... Reading and playing more gave me good skills and I win pretty much every game I start these days. My favourite ...

Happens to me all the time, the way I play...I usually play vanilla and level 5 as the Feds. At that level, I usually can begin with a slow expansion and try to hit a good economic level...once your economy goes past a certain point and/or you colonize a certain percentage of systems and you don't h...
