Re: Long time, no see
In the future, who knows? Right now I'm just easing my way back into the game and modding (as well as resisting the urge to put a hammer through my PC)

hard crash when modifying trek.exe
Well, having gotten back into the game, I decided to get a few of the mods off of here and get playing again. Aside from 1.0.2, all of them crashed and crashed hard. My PC would start running the mods, the screen went black and stayed black. No way of exiting, no ctrl/alt/delete, esc key, nada. This...

Long time, no see
I wish I could remember Commander Tebok's speech, but I can't, so I'll just say 'I'm back'. I won't bore people with why I've been away so long, but I'm back again and trying to get back into the game again. I'm surprised at how much I can still remember on the modding front, though it seems my old ...

I've altered some of the monsters and I've decreased the red giant star frequency to reduce the chance of being hit by a supernova but that's it in that front. I didn't know there was a way to alter climate shifts/ comet strikes so I'll go read the link Krazee posted. Sounds like you're just having...

Dunno whats been mentioned before or what is possible Could the randomly generated galaxy be turn off and replace with an accurate map of the star trek universe (I kindof see this as a mod unto itself) Mentat was working on a mod that ties in with the Ultimate Dominion Mod that would give the playe...

theres an exchange table for the planets in trek.exe i think it was one of the last posts by SCT regarding random events you should be able to adjust the devistation there ie terran to oceanic not barran would be less of a blow in future games. Terran to Oceanic .... that could be a random event in...

I'd like to have Star Systems with multiple Stars in it. So a binary System would be really great or even a ternary one would be really cool :) Y? because it would fit better to reality :) edit: Star Systems in which life barely is possible would be nice, too. As it now is: totally ridiculous, exag...

I buy a colony ship as soon as I can and colonise the nearest two systems. I get the food and industry sorted out (20 industrial units if the colony size is 350 or thereabouts) and then shove anything spare into research. Enery is not needed yet because you don't have anything to power save for a sh...

I'm playing AAM mod and have noticed a definate difference in the frequency and type of random events. I'm at turn 200 and have had no plantery shifts at all (whereas in vanilla they pop up like a bad rash) Instead just a few major earthquakes = a few dead citizens and trashed buildings, but nothin...

Comet strikes turn the planet affected into a J class wasteland, and in my case, the random events seem to unerringly hit a new formed colony so they get completely wiped out by said strike  if they hit an energy rich planet, the next turn you'll usually get a message saying your system has in...

Ah Gomtuu ... we discussed this a while ago. I can't remember if there is any upside to having him befriend you, unless that just means he can move through your space without tripping alarms and sending you into combat against it all the time. The Ferengi too had some hilarious battle dialogue. The ...

The Crystal entity isn't as relentless as the Borg though IMO. I've rarely seen it hang around in a system long enough to completely wipe the population out, and it certainly doesn't spawn new entities after destroying a system like the Borg do. They tend to hit once or twice and then run. Often the...
