Game slowdown

Hello, while doing some modding I experienced the typical game slowdown in very untypical manners. Right now I have a game where at turn 310 or so the game didn't really slow down (starting tech level 2, actual tech level 4 to 5). With vanilla game values the game slows down around turn 100. Some ot...

The turns last as long as I needed to micromanage all the systems. In this special case I was checking 30+ systems, but had to real manage only 5, the rest was in auto build mode. That means that I got these 300 turns within 5 hours, which makes an average turn lasts only one minute. Game slo...

Testing overview

At the moment I am testing modifications made with new 1.0.3. Once again some code errors forced my to delete my former mod files (but I have the code chance documentation anyway, so this is not dramatic) I have started as romulan empire at tech 2 for all empires (large map, big galaxy, no minors, r...

Another idea is to have all ship types which are aviable at the starting tech level.
More than one ship per ship type may lead to "a new game balance" (not to say inbalance).
After all, interesting ideas.

I have observed once that a ferengi scout came through a wormhole.

Since I never ever again saw the AI using the wormhole I don't expect AI sending troop transporters to the other side to build a outpost. Guess there is no code for such behavore inside trek.exe.

There is a "bug" on F1 screen few (only part of galaxy) with large map: The ship icons are so large that I cannot direct a ship to a sector where other ships already are. sending a ship to a sector with an outpost is no problem at all. Is it possible to rescale the ship icons? And a questi...

Re: About how the AI colonizes planets

One reason why a human player is having faster "full equipped systems" is that only human players uses grouped colony ships for faster terraforming. I never ever saw this done by AI. To reduce this "benefit" I had the idea of coding a square root formula based on the sum of all ...

I agree that playing with lower system pop is more a challenge - as long as one uses vanilla values.
It is possible to adapt the values for big or even huge system pop and having a game play which is nearly the same as plain vanilla - but with better micromanagement...

First Romulans, second Klingons, then the Cards one short step ahead of the other empires with the Ferenigs clearly the last.

The use of full productivity for getting one or more "items" in first building slot (depending only industry output, but not any more on one item per turn) woud be imho a great enhancement. I too prefer to play big - no, huge! - systems, but the bigger a system the more turns it takes to h...

If you manage to install Linux on your PSP3, then most likely you can run BotF with wine. But with wine you have to either install BotF via CD or you manage to insert the registry entry correctly.
