Updated ship packs?
Yep...it's me again. So here I am quite happily adding new ships left, right and centre, when I suddenly run into a problem. Now Thunderchero's idea of making all ships in UDM (and the associated ship pack) scaled at 150% is a fantastic idea. BUT. Now I'm trying to add the Nova-class as the Science ...

Preventing auto-upgrading
Hi folks, I've looked over the old topic here - https://www.armadafleetcommand.com/onscreen/botf/viewtopic.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=19076#19076 - about preventing auto-upgrading, and it seems to do the job I want it to. However in said topic, people were discussing the possibility of...

Re: Save files not working
Yeah I thought that might be the case, and no I don't have a backup trek.exe. Ah well, I guess it gives me a chance to expand the shiplist etc completely clean, and I can just extract the important files from my current stbof file and import into a fresh stbof + trek.exe combo. At least now I know I...

Save files not working
Hi all, Okay so I had my changes to stbof all worked out, then like an idiot decided to try to add a new ship (as in add one, not replace one) and then load up a saved game. It didn't work so well, as the ship types had become corrupted - things such as all of my Colony ships had become science ship...

Re: Ultimate Editor
That makes sense actually, I think you're right. I changed Remus to a Volcanic planet and Romulus 1 to a barren planet, and it completely screwed up the system in-game, but when I set them as their original planet types, it went back to normal. Maybe it's because I made Cardassia Prime a desert plan...

Re: Ultimate Editor
Okay I have a bit of a bug here. In an attempt to make the home systems a bit more canon, I did things like changing the planet names (eg Romulus 2 = Romulus, Romulus 3 = Remus) as well as changing the planet types for a few of them, such as Remus. I also changed the home planet for both the Romulan...

New Bugs - modification of ECM2
Hi all, and welcome to another edition of 'Darth Windu has created strange new bugs'. So I've been playing my modified version of ECM2, pretty much no problems. Well okay not quite true. Previously I had an issue where Jem'hadar Attack Fighters wouldn't be targeted by torpedoes, and sometimes caused...

Re: Ship name downloads
Yeah exactly Peter. So you can delete the names of a class that are already there, and simply import the new file. I formed my lists from Memory Beta which has some really good lists.

Ship name downloads
Hi all, I think we can all agree that the generic ship names in BotF, particularly for the Romulans and Klingons, are pretty bad. Therefore, I've been making custom ship name lists and then started to wonder if there was any resource at this site to simply download said ship names as a txt file and ...

Re: Weird bug - Dominion Attack Ship model problems
I know! It's bizarre, but it seems to have fixed the problem. I'm using the same model that previously caused the game to crash, and now it works fine after I removed the two stock Ferengi models and replaced them with new models. It doesn't make sense to me either, but it works.

Re: Weird bug - Dominion Attack Ship model problems
Well I tried Dr Breens model - the game crashed again. I can't take any screenshots with two of the models because the game crashes whilst trying to load the model. I can try again with the other model, though I'm trying to play around with Breens model scale and see if that makes a difference. If n...

Re: Weird bug - Dominion Attack Ship model problems
Hi all, Well I've replaced all of the stock ships with Thunderchero's ships, in this case the Dominion Attack Ship has replaced the Ferengi Raider. I haven't changed anything about how weapons work etc, I actually don't even know how to, and this is the only ship it happens with. I even tried auto-r...

Weird bug - Dominion Attack Ship model problems
Hi all, I've created my own mod with ECM2 as a basis - it's a general Dominion mod but in this case it's a what-if scenario, with the Dominion allied to the Ferengi. I still wanted the Ferengi in-game, plus it kinda makes sense for the Ferengi to join the Dominion in that they get military muscle an...

Re: Opinions wanted - renaming the Sovereign-class 'type'
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I like 'Tactical Cruiser' but it doesn't really make much sense in terms of military terminology - after all, they're all built to be used tactically. Explorer is a good one as well, the irony being that in BotF the Sovereign and Galaxy classes can't actually explore...

Opinions wanted - renaming the Sovereign-class 'type'
To elaborate a bit, I despise the 'dreadnought' classification. It's not a real classification and is generally only used by those who have heard it in passing, but have no understanding of why the Dreadnought was a good idea. Anyway these are the options I've come up with thus far, and am curious a...
