seem the shipname.bin file was deleted (maybe by UE?) have installed a backup so am testing... this would cause a gui crash i suppose if a ship name didn't exist??

that seems to have done the trick! :D

do you mean the one that appears after the empire intro movie and before new game start?

if this is the case then *_load.tga [where * is c,f,h,k,r repectivelyt for each race]

@Tripitz -- w.r.t. 'hard-coded' it will require you to hex edit the trek.exe in a suitable hex editor. However, the good news is you'll only need to change values not coding so this could make a nice project for yourself into hex-modding. Therefore I suggest you take a look at the buts and bolts gui...

to clarify DW & usane

the AI will buid the lowest ship ID that matches the class it is trying to build.
however w.r.t. upgrades these must be below the pre-cursors.
i.e. Destroyer II's must always follow Destroyer I's et al.

This is only re itterating what TC has said.

this looks like a corupt save file to me (anyone wanna confirm this guess), (i.e. something wrong with the taskForce ID) so you'll need to correct that, sadly this is not my area of speciality, you'll need to take a look at the wiki and search this site for clues.

no one has tried this but it would be quicker (IMHO) to swap the traits over iirc both are solves and it becomes a question of swapping 00 with 02 and 02 with 00 ;) but you'll have to search the forums for this infomation... try cardassian intel bonus and ferengi free trade routs my guess is gowron ...
