but adding something like this to AI code is close to impossible without source code to recompile.

But how to do the terraforming trick? I change the planet id to something else, make a graphic and link them? But what about Jupiter and cia? Any ideas? I dont want to copy UM5 content.

On terraforming gas giants

Tell me, its not possible, right? I bet it isnt...

I was thinking in making a small graphic of a small orbiting station to replace the original one once its "terraformed": the station is built.

Have anyone ever thougth of making the small races being able to create theyr own pocket empire, being able to colonize one or two more worlds and you, the player, having to handle them? That would be an interesting addition to the game, if that is at all possible. I bet someone already had this ide...

Ok so I should be using the folder from the tools and these mods for up to date patches, if I got it right.

How exactly QD patcher do its magic? It hex edit the trek.exe file using the marked options?

What about the red flagged options in the patcher? Its a do it on your own risk thing? :D

Thunderchero, thanks a lot for your guidance! I have tried the patcher program and begun to look around and tried the ECM mod .exe and found that there are two patches, the very firsts, listed as red. So no matter how many times I fix it UE will mess it... How cool...
At this time it seems it will be easier not to mess with it or mess with it LAST, after I did everything else, but if I have to fix anything UE will mess with it again... Ouch.

Ok,

I experimented a bit and found out that if I rename one ship slot with alphanumeric chars one slot is created, if I use a number 2 slots are created. I suppose the rules for phasers and scale apply to those? And what more can be done and what are the limits?

Thanks, Thunder! But I've already checked all those and none of them explain how to expand the shiplist. Maybe Im not expressing myself right, English isnt my language. What Im trying to say is that I know how to include models in the ship list, what I dont know is how to expand the number of slots ...
