Re: New installer Beta available 11-20-23

Good suggestion, I'll add a warning. Even the max byte ID FF might be problematic and requires many special case tests (and perhaps some code workarounds). So max shiplist.sst ID FE might be the best choice? Maybe including values in sub_48B470 helps with this? There is a max ship ID +1 check,...

Re: Extending the shiplist

does UE Extending the shiplist code need to be updated? You should include: At 0xD49C, 0x2A736 and 0x34DE6 change: 52 73 to: 28 24. 0x4E698 (loc_44F295) -> Cube ID (block cube check) Added, including another integrity check for when the BORG cube ID got changed. and set controlling race in shiplist...

Re: UE Map Editor

I see, at some point I need to update it again. Maintaining a wiki for so little use however is not much reasonable. For now I have better to do. A few days later and I found that bplaced is goind to end PHP 5.6 support some time mid year. https://inside.bplaced.net/php-8-3-verfuegbar-abschal...

I think Locarno was just Tom Paris' Nick name.
Question should be, why did they change name? They could film an episode of it, I'm sure! We only know half the story!

Re: Ship compatibility (UDM, Vanilla)

Active development one is v0.9.3dev3? That's the one I have now. That's the last official release and already heavily outdated. You need to build from source. Here is where you find active development branch: https://gitlab.com/stbotf/ultimate-editor/-/branches Alternatively try use some ancient UE...

Re: microsoft at it again ???

I had no issue with fresh reinstall. And I'm running latest Win 11.
Oh, but I always disable the pesky notifications to send in samples of unknown software.

Re: Ship compatibility (UDM, Vanilla)

This was before I updated to the latest version of UE, if that is a significant detail at all. Last release as far I recall had major issues for ship import & export. Which is why I got convinced to overwork all the ship model related code. Rather don't mess with the old version, but follow bui...

Re: New installer Beta available 11-20-23

Without hundreds of, partly major, code changes trek.exe cannot support ship, station, or monster IDs larger than byte, so UE should not allow this and issue a warning (IIRC thunderchero was shocked UE supported this, when analysing shiplist mess-ups by noobs). Good suggestion, I'll add a warning. ...

Re: New installer Beta available 11-20-23

I remember you asked for an integrity check that fixes duplicates. your memory is better than mine One of the many private request you had. For the record: when loading ship models if duplicate hob file (HM1 slots 24 and 25 in vanilla) adding/editing these slots is really a pain. (I tho...

when looking at BOP trek changes I ran into this conflict (not sure what integrity check is flagging code) at 0017eaec 800 and 1024 GUI 0017eae0h: 63 00 00 00 25 73 2E 74 67 61 00 00 25 64 00 00 ; c...%s.tga..%d.. 1366 and 1920 GUI 0017eae0h: 63 00 00 00 25 73 5F 62 2E 74 67 61 00 25 64 00 ; c...%s...

Re: New installer Beta available 11-20-23

thanks so much, next time I will "load all" before integrity check I guess I should make it the default, to load all segments and only skip textures. With added options in the settings panel. 1 & 2. hobs, files will be fixed 3. will get patch file to correct "BOP minor rac...

Re: New installer Beta available 11-20-23

To make sure I didn't miss any obvious issues, I reinstalled all mods with latest installer and run UE integrity checks. Here is what I found: 1. In AAM and AAML stbof.res, UE reports: Warning: in cbboom.hob: Unknown data detected that is exceeding the expected TotalSize: 11472 bytes Warning: in cgb...

Re: New installer Beta available 11-20-23

example; first thing to select would be resolution/display mode (window/full) this would be used for all mods installed during that install run. Looks good, but what if mod doesn't support selected resolution? You might default to the next highest resolution ofc, but when 1920 x 1080 got selected, ...

Re: New installer Beta available 11-20-23

sounds good, but I am looking at 3-4 weeks before I would get anything together. Some more time for testing then. That's fine. BTW, did I mention the install would benefit from some select all options so there are less clicks needed to install? select-all.jpg Although it's not impo...

Re: New installer Beta available 11-20-23

I was not sure if you wanted to do a release for others to test (those who do not compile source) before adding to installer? I doubt it'll make much of a difference. I rather do some little more testing myself and continue fix a few savegame issues. Nonetheless I'll make a release soon, just for t...
