Islamic terrorism (all kinds of terrorism actually) dont hate people for what they do, they hate them for what they are, that's what makes it so perverse. Who tells you that, the terrorists themselves? The Osama videos? Where's the reason to believe that? Now how about telling you that economic ter...

Where's the expense for the middle class and why do you think the middle class has not suffered much more indirectly due to GWB economic mismanagement (note: world finance crisis, extremely expensive wars)? And quite frankly, I don't believe in terrorism being islamic or religious. This is all about...

as far as our news tells us that's exactly what he's on it from day one. the whole race thing in news coverage is just yellow or tabloid press gone wild. For me it has no meaning. People like to read or hear about extraordinary stuff and the press knows that so this is just making money on their sid...

as long as there are certain downloads here, I don't think he will come by. I wouldn't either when I once signed a treaty not to disclose or release the software I was working on for free anywhere. I'm afraid he's bound by his work he did for botf back then. Jean needs to actually get an agreement a...

If experience reduced upkeep of a ship then I'd say yes but it's only used for combat performance so meeting a race not exactly trains you in performing good evasive maneuvers, that's why only fighting a monster gives (combat) experience.

built up on civ? It has similarities but for example colony management is totally different. In civ you harvest your surrounding tiles while in botf you stick to your planetary system.

this would be cool. If they call it Abandonware or more exactly public domain (Abandonware is no legal term hence don't count) and hand that out in written form, botf could potentially become quite a source for all kinds of artwork and sounds for the botf2 project. Of course I would still ask the re...

depending on how complicated (which hopefully translates into flexible and brainy) you wanna program the AI, yes. It also heavily depends on time a person has per day to code. It's not a thing to do by the other day. Since BotE is half-opensource (whatever that means ) and the Civ4 AI is also o...

yeah we have. It did take several months to complete it, working more or less full-time on it, two coders. I can understand Mike taking more time with this. Our programmers were both still studying at college at that time which means they had a bit more spare time to take care of it and time is what...

yes, me . no, there was nothing like that. Where did you read that? I don't want myths and rumours fly around ;). It was really just me informing myself about legal aspects of fan-created games (there's a really nice article over at gamedev.net: http://www.gamedev.net/community/forums/topic.asp...

Jean, once and for all, if you keep telling your story about us wanting to sell the game, I'll personally kick your ass, understood? Maybe that's your conviction but then label it so. It reads like if we made a likewise statement. If you want, say IMO, but you'll get me enraged every time you don't....

There are already recent threads about Star Trek Supremacy and Birth of the Empires where you can find some information about them. Nevertheless since there are just two of them, try them both. Remember though all current downloadable versions are (pre-)alpha versions which means they are not comple...
