Very nice work, looks fantastic. I made a ton of new planet animations a while back for use in the various Botf2 projects. One day I planned to strip the frames for conversion and replace some of the planet graphics in a mod, as you have.

Check em out if you like, see what you think of mine. (I could probably do better nowadays)

ok update 2

two versions of the texture here

have darkened the seas and greyed down the land, added more strips into the sea areas, looks a tad dark to me, can easily fix for a lighter version:-

Pretty f-in cool, Tethys. The second one is probably my personal favorite, but they honestly all look very good. 8)

Ok ive created new animations for the Arctic planets and the Desert/Barren class planets, but Im not happy with the sizes on some of them, so I will be redoing the large ones into the small ones... here they are...

They all look fantastic so far! However there is one thing missing I think. Atmospheres.

If you could add a soft halo of atmosphere to each planet then that would be the cherry on the cake so to speak.

Something akin to this, which is a sample line up of the planet types I had in preparation for Supremacy:

Yes Tethys I know what you mean regarding my 'earth' animation. It is a bit ropey, and quite a while back now I planned on redoing a few of them, but never got round to it as Mike (mstrobel) chose to use a different set of planets for the Supremacy project.

I was contemplating whether or not to include atmospheres, and finally decided against them since that would make the overall animation larger (pixelwise) and would also take away from the detail that I am trying to portray with the new planets, and thank you for your input.

Plus Ive already made almost all the textures and it would take another 2 weeks or 6-7 hour days to redo them correctly...

BTW where can I get the latest version of BotF 2? I was looking over the site there and I found some interesting things I was just wondering if it was playable yet and had a working combat engine? And is this different then Supremacy?

Thanks,
Tethys

Good questions, I tried both about a year or more ago. One wasn't actually playable yet, the other was but they hadn't released a Trek mod for it. Don't remember which was which.

My question, has the Trek mod been released yet???? Will it ever be?

EDIT: Never mind got the answer myself from http://star-trek-games.com/index.php?op ... Itemid=108
Hope that solves all question that might arise about the trek mod and when it will become available for download: The moment we get a green light from CBS Paramount :).
In other words we will never get a Trek mod.
