I just thought about something, you are using an edited version of BOP. So there are no starbases you would need to edit "Outpost" value. (Outposts are renamed to starbase)

That's a good point. Any idea where the Outpost value for sector claims might that be found in trek.exe?

EDIT: Disregard, its in original post.

there is a difference; i do not know if it matters or not but:
on Floke's change:
C0 68 00 00 34 40 8A 44 24 10 6A 00 B9 02 00 00 00 8B 04 85 10

on TC's and Dafedz change:
C0 68 00 00 34 40 8A 44 24 0C 6A 00 B9 02 00 00

these are differnt locations for different types (outpost and starbase) 10 = outpost and 0C = starbase

yes, i was just about to say that the addresses are also a bit apart; sorry for confusing the matter more.
Question: it seems to me that the change from +10 to +20 (claim value/sector) matters only to strengthen the claim on a sector in case it is disputed; for extending the range the change from 01 to 02 is all it is needed, right?

Hello and sorry for Necro'ng this topic. I seem to be having some issues here trying to edit starbase and outpost sector claims and claim value(not sure what that means)
I tried following the first post made by SCT, none of the botf assemblers i convert end up being found in trek.exe via hex editor. not sure what im doing wrong. Also the use of IDA eludes me, i've spent 6 hours over 2 days looking it over. Fair to say I've not made any progress at all lol.
Ive already been editing and changing values in game via hex editor and UE but for some reason this topic eludes me. I have tried using different "type" in the cot nverter etc 2 bit 4 bit..
What im trying to do is change outposts sector claim to 20 and starbase claim to 30
Any help is always appreciated!
Thanks
