Hi chaps,

I have a question on functionality.

Is there any way to do the following things using UE?;

- Change the ownership of a system (say, from Ferengi to Federation, from minor to major race, or even from major to minor race)

- Change the war/peace status between factions (major and minor)

- Change the territorial access between factions (presently, any modified game I save in UE causes the Federation to be unable to access Romulan space, even if the two are at war at the time. A real pain for scenario building, which I like to do)

- Re-create an extinct Faction (for a bit of fun, say, killing the Klingons, then re-creating them and killing them all over again)

- Change the contact status of factions (there's currently a tick chart showing who has communication with who, but I can't change it)

Hi Spychotic,

the short answer to all of the questions I'm afraid is no. Maybe someday.

The problem with the territorial access seems to be a bug, I'll have to look into it.

Am I an Idiot? I followed the instructions to install the UE but it says stbof.res cannot be found. It's probably something I've done wrong. Any help would be appreciated as I am no computer genius. Thanks, I've enjoyed this site allot and appreciate your efforts

you must select\open the install location you want to edit (C:\botf\stbof.res)

Thanks thunderchero! The way I read the tutorial I thought that that it would show up. When I typed it in (multiple times :D) I didn't put ''c'' in front of it. Thank you for your quick response.

Does anyone know how to add planets to a star system using UE, or if it's possible to do so?

You know what would be nice? Being able to correctly mod galaxy size on the 1024-mod without f'kin up the galaxy map.

you may need to run QD's bofrespatch-20111119-w32 to correct size.

you can also adjust save file with UE + hex editing to add planets or whole systems, refer botfwiki
planet count has a limit of 9 max though, else botf crashes

Import Starnames: Merge. Just an idea. Oh and someone had a feckin huge starnames.bin floating about a year or three ago, and I can't find it, just wondering.

As regards to the sun Java, which one, the link you suppled DCER takes you to a page where there is more than 1 Sun Java available.

Kinda confusing.
