Version 0.6.4
is released.
Credits for this version go to:
Flocke (for figuring out the result.lst file)
and
Siggi (who did a great job translating UE into German)
Big thanks to both for their efforts!
Most notable changes in this version:
General:
- added translation support
- added German translation (thanks to Siggi)
- added partial Slovenian translation (for testing purposes)
- got rid of the data folder (essential data moved into jar)
- check integrity screen now has a regular text box - this allows easy text copying
- sometimes AboutGUI wasn't showing correctly, this is now fixed
- fixed bug: when converting images the file extension is now changed to tga
- trek.exe can now be opened with the editor (not all versions)
- saving files now works properly under linux
Stbof:
- ships can be added or removed from shiplist (requires trek.exe to be set in settings)
- added a very simple group edit for buildings
- ships are marked if they are special or not
- fixed cosmetic bug in ShipGUI that caused the ship list to jump sometimes
- check integrity command re-enabled
- fixed detection of changes
Alt:
- adding/removing files works the same as for stbof.res,
save changes using File->Save
Saved games:
- adding/removing files works the same as for stbof.res
save changes using File->Save
- extracting/adding result.lst now works as it should (thanks to Flocke)
Exe:
- added option to enable/disable the CD protection

EDIT:
I'd like to note that this software is always beta, make backups. If you find a bug, post it in this thread.

I just tested UE and I got an error message on the tech screen. But I can't get the movies to work in the game nor can I play on eWarzone, so it may simply be my installation though.
When I go on Edit -> Technology -> Technology Fields if I click on ANY of the techs, I get the error message "techdesc.tec: String at index 77 not found." I got the exact same error message for all of the fields that I tried to open. When I then tried to go to a different UE screen, the error message appeared FOUR times before I was able to carry on.

hi, getting following message, when i start it: "could not find the main class. programm will exit."
I installed the new UE exactly as the "old", extracting it into a new folder in the botf directory.
maybe, i should use another zip-programm?

The Germans are a cruel race. Their operas last for six hours and they have no word for "fluffy".

You need to get java 6, some old versions worked on older java, the new one doesn't. Check the instructions on page 1.
using v0.6.4a and the latest java, when i try to save an edited save game, i get a Read/Write Error saying "Attempted to read past end of stream.", followed by several Save Game Errors each saying "Previous sav entry not closed."
any idea how to fix it? pretty excited about the idea of messing with botf save games.
