this is not easy, you would have to create new registry entries for the duplicate install and edit the trek.exe for new registry.

It would be easier to just copy/backup the version you are not playing (copy entire folder to different location) but copied folder would not be playable.

Thanks for your reply, TC.

I was afraid it had something to do with the registries being overwritten by the new install; well i saved all i needed (my stbof.res and trek.exe). I can add those to any new installation of UDM and have my changes.
I will try uninstalling the MPR++ UDM and see if the original one will revert using the files in it's directory. I do not know how this win registry stuff is working. Probably i will be better off with a clean new installation.

I have another computer, and i will install MPR++ there for testing; that way i can play my old one without these tricks.

I know you guys are busy now, but i will open a list with models i would like to be available in MPR++; will try to add pictures and the mod that already has the ship model.

Long Time listener, first time caller. Just wanted to say that BOTF was the first pc game I bought years ago, and still one of my favorites. So pleased to see that there is a shared love of this game by so many people, brings a tear to the eye. Thanks to all the modders and of course yourself Flocke for doing this project. Having said that, I was wondering if I can get a link to the alpha test. I have no modding skills, and I've never played the MPR mod before, only UDM, but I hope I can see if there are any bugs.

welcome Kaitane, modding skills are not required
mpr++ is rather a patch than a mod, and supports multiple mods already including UDM
cheers :)

So I'm playing UDM using MPR, and than I get this to my surprise :O

I know I'm way outnumbered, but I noticed that there's still a beam being shot from one of the ships, a red line all the way across....

but other than this, the game plays great! hardly any slowdown at all during combat

I said something to Flocke about this already, but not sure if he has a fix for it yet. Maybe next update.

that's a temporary issue I don't worry about
it'll vanish when I implement some better wrapping for the rendered objects

great to hear it works fine beside this little phantom :)

I wouldn't mind testing this for you. Am I correct that it will work with the unmodified 1.02 Multi-installer but doesn't currently work with UDM5?

you wouldn't mind or do you like to test?
sent you the links

it does work with unmodified 1.02 Multi-installer, and it does work with the mods listed first post
UDM5 is not supported, there exist no UDM5 mod, the UM5 mod you mean isn't supported yet either but I'm sure it will in some time
UDM3 by thunderchero is supported ;)

Thanks for the links. Oh and it's a bit of both really, I'd like to see the improved graphics as the screenshots look amazing and I don't mind giving you some feedback.

Oh, okay  . it was a weird thing to see a red line going through the screen....

I did run into the ship inside of another ship issue too, but I see that it was something Thunder did, so I won't bring that up.

I love the fact that the game doesn't stop to a crawl when in combat, with a whole lot of ships

I may just be an exessive lurker, but I would gladly sign up to test this mod :)
This is like a dream come true. I have been looking for a mod which upgraded the battle
graphics for many a year... but found nothing until now.

Ähm... So yes I would love to test your mod and provide you with feedback as best as I can :)
