Hi all! New to the site but not to the game and the mods over the years. I am super excited at the idea of a re-worked BOTF because I continue to play to this day!

How are things coming along with this MPR++? For my info... what is MPR++ exactly?

Can I also get a link to try out things in their current state?

Thank you!

Welcome CosmicRays!

mpr++ is a trek.exe patch and mpr97 dll replacement hooking up on the botf rendering code and adapting the open source Ogre3D graphic engine. It also comes with a few other experimental tweaks but is not affecting the gameplay. See first page and the pm ofc.
The past years there sadly has been no progress and I can't tell when I'll get back to it. Not that I lost interest but I've been heavily busy with work and RL.

regards

FYI I am having issues with MPR++ 0.2.6c and Ultimate Dominion Mod... at least when fighting ships that are cloaked. If I hit the "fight" button the game will crash. I have to use "auto" to fight against fleets with cloaked ships.

Hm, that issue is new to me, I am sure it worked when I tested it beside that cloaking isn't properly visualized.
Might be a special ship or circumstance and might be that it is not related to mpr++ given such weird but repeatable cloak crashes occured with vanilla botf as well from time to time.

Flocke might have time to look at the crash logs
1. Game.log (in UDML folder)
2. crash.log (this is for botf not mpr but could be helpful)
3. mpr++.log (in udml\mpr++ folder)
4. cegui.log (in udml\mpr++ folder)

collect all the files directly after it crashes and add them to a zip file and attach them to the next time you post.

note to Flocke, I could not duplicate issue on my install in combat with cloaked klingon or with Yridian

Let me make it crash and then I'll gather data.

In addition, I do get crashes when I attempt to view ship data base as the Feds

Were your ships cloaked or were you fighting against cloaked ships? I see this, specifically, as the Feds vs Roms and Klingons

I was fighting ships with cloak klingon or with Yridian playing as feds (fed have no cloak)

from your post in UDM topic it sounds like you have added ships? if so this is more than likely your issue causing crash.

HI there... I'm not adding any ships.

When a battle occurs, I simply select to "fight" and it crashes.

The other crash happens when I select

Object Data Base >> Ships

than something was installed improperly, (wrong order, installer was closed early or installer had error)

when "combat opens" and "looking at data base ships" are all phaser issues.

I would be willing to bet if you looked at crash.log it would be;

Version Under Test: 72
File: object.cpp, Line: 495, slotNumber <objData>TotalObjectSlot"

I have proven on multiple Windows 10 machines that the all in one installer works perfectly.

Only when I install MPR++ does the issue arise.

I will get the error messages from the MPR++ install because i noticed that there are Python errors during the install.
