Ship models you would like in MPR++ v0.2.6c

Post by adi »

When MPR++ v0.2.6c came out it had most ships from vanilla and UDM rerendered for MPR++; thankyou very much for that Flocke and TC and whoever else gave us that.
I opened this topic so that people would list other ships that they would like available. Please add a picture and the mod from where you know the ship.
I know people that build models are very busy, but who knows, they might find the time.

nice topic
I know there are alot ships missing

the ships included so far were all converted and overworked by thunderchero
lately ajax joined the forum willing to help us with ships, he asked for an asset list to work on so this topic does fit very well :)
here's some of his art: http://sleepy-mike.deviantart.com/gallery/

of course he first needs to learn how to deal with the conversion, it's a bit complicate still
with some luck anjel, breen and vjeko find time to help on art too
I'm really looking forward to some more great art for this project, now that it prooved to work.

cheers

p.s. please change topic header, it's v0.2.6c not 2.0.6c

I changed the version; but it was an honest mistake. it fells much more evolved than a v0.x.x :)

Here are a few more ships would be nice to have in MPR++
Luna, Nova, Vesta, Achilles, Titan, Immense starbase
2 romulan models (i think i got them from the Galaxy mod) - i used them as a cruiser and a strike cruiser
1 Klingon battle cruiser model (also from Galaxy mod)

nice idea adi, you should edit the OP, so for everyone to see a list you would be editing along new requests.
I´ve have been working with the vesta model for a long time, now i´m texturing, but there´s a long road yet, i´m planning to look at the luna next, and i admmint that the immense station has been around my head for a long time.

OP = original post

keep a list in OP of request so modders don't have to go though every post.

nice but none of the images above show up, e.g. use http://postimg.org/ instead, 4shared doesn't allow to direct link images

Funky; they show up for me; maybe because i am logged into 4shared. I'll have to transfer them to imageshack; well things are slow at work anyway, so maybe i'll do it today.
Yep, logged out of 4shared and the images are gone.
By the way, Botf without MPR++ does not have the demo mode where you can go through the ships, right? That would have been an awesome way to get pictures!

Constitution Refit from UDM III (looks like the one from ST:Legacy) instead of P81's

Miranda Class with rollbars instead of the Lantree configuration.

Excelsior Class

Nebula Class that is properly proportioned

Galaxy X Class for UDM III

if you guys want more models, it would speed things up greatly if I had light textures.

these are what takes the longest to do. here is an example of a light texture.
Ambassi.jpg

here is an example of the normal texture.
Ambass.jpg
Ambass.jpg (374.07 KiB) Viewed 9744 times
you will notice if these 2 files were placed on top of each other the normal and the light textures would line up perfectly.

you would need to first extract the gif files from the ship pack for alterations.

do not edit postion of images (mapping is important not to change)

create a copy of the images name copy ******i.bmp and save as bmp

It is easiest if you use a program such as adobe cs4 so you can create layers.

if you have any questions just ask.

lets see how good you can create these light textures.
