QuasarDonkey
Thank you for all your hard work recoding BOTF. I look foward to playing it on my iMac and iPad (BTW you can make a iPad app... it may not be able to get on The App Store but you can make it available on The Net... People can then download it into iTunes and then into Their iPad. Thats how Corporations develop and distribute their apps on iPad)

first: we gotta get a working program.
second: apple is so restrictive i doubt we get this running on a iPad.

Apple is only restrictive when it comes to putting the app on The App Store. You can make the app and make it freely available in the Internet. People can download it and put it on their iPad. There's no approval process for thatDr_Breen wrote:@JeanNYGUARD: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bnuxBRKgk8

Re: Yet Another BotF Clone
The possibilities of this project.
Now I know completing this project will give us a BOTF that can operate on different OS's such as Mac OSX, Windows 8, & Linux, which I'm very excited for. That alone makes this one of The most important Star Trek Gaming projects ever. But a complete rewrite can offer new possibilities for BOTF such as
1. Better and more stable mods
2. Complete changes in The GUI Of BOTF
3. Gameplay improvements
4. Combat engine overhaul
5. Gameplay mechanics improvements
I don't know about u but this is a very exciting project. Thanks quasar donkey!

I would offer my services however my limited skills would probably be of no use. Good luck with this project, a noble one indeed. Impressive networking tests

Re: Yet Another BotF Clone
I doubt it. I am sure QD is just occupied with alot of things at the moment. Just be patient and play some of the mods
Re: Yet Another BotF Clone
I would happily offer my BoTF2 database for this. It contains a comprehensive library of many gameplay elements compiled for the various (abortive) BotF2 projects. It is at your disposal when the time comes.

Re: Yet Another BotF Clone
I know I'm answering a bit late, but I'd say git or mecurial. Stay away from subversion at all costs! Also, why not github or bitbucket?QuasarDonkey wrote:Don't worry, you'll have a chance very soon (within a week or two). And there's lots to do. I'm currently revising some of the basic code. I'm trying to sanitize the codebase and get everything consistent before open-sourcing.Dr_Breen wrote:i am more eager to implement something....
On that note, does anyone have preferences in terms of the version control system? Sourceforge gives the option of Subversion (svn), Git, Mercurial (hg), Bazaar, or CVS. I'm gravitating toward either Mercurial or Subversion.
All in all I'm very excited about this project. I'm still waiting for you to open source this so I can help. I work in the supercomputing department for a university so I deal with performance issues all the time. I'm also a huge fan of testing. I feel like I could really contribute a lot to this project in terms of performance and quality assurance :]

any way I just figured his computer caught a "virus" and those are only keys working on his keyboard or the bot that took over his computer posted it.
