Birth of the Federation

So what's your favorite ship in BOTF, going purely from the standpoint of looks? I'm not talking about which ship is your favorite in terms of performance, just which one most appeals to you in a visual sense.

For me, it's a virtual three-way tie between the d'Deridex-class Warbird, K'Vort-class heavy Bird-of-Prey, and Sovereign-class battleship (although perhaps the K'vort has just the slightest edge over the other two). The first two combine (appropriately) predatory lines with a deadly beauty and power; while the Sovvy somehow conveys an image of sleekness, power, and grace.


Oh, and feel free to include outposts & starbases if you wish. Not that defensive installations are necessarily as exciting, but there is definitely something rather imposing about at least some of them....

my favs are the Hamburger (Defiant) and the Chicken Wings (B'rel)

Galor (or the "Keldon" variant in some mods). Reminds me of a king cobra.

Are we talking strictly vanilla here? My first thought was the Dom Attack Scout from UDM.

But from vanilla specifically it's the Ferg Marauder.

First of all, great question.

If I had to pick one, it would probably be the fed escort (defiant). An awesome display of power and speed.

The Miranda Class, I don't care what any of you say, it's the best ship there is.

I don't know why, but my favourite is the R'Derex.
It's a cool mixture of influences from older Klingon and modern Romulan ships.
I love it.

I just love the Trimaran hull layout.

The Sovereign class is my favourite; I love big looking ships.

And no, I'm not making up for something else.

Vanilla: The Constellation. Ever since I saw the Stargazer when I was like 8 years old, I've always thought that ship was beautiful.

UDMIII: Akira. I do so love the Akira's... Although the mod's Sovereign is a close second, because it looks stunning.

Vanilla: K'vort, they already looked good and kick ass like in the original version

the d'Deridex-class Warbird is my favorite looking ship I only wish it had been scaled in the original game as in the early episodes of the next generation, ie. 4 times the size of the federation's galaxy class starship.

Vanilla wise, I like the Yridian scout.
