Windows Vista

Post by gunhead365 »

Hi There :)

we (me and some friends) wanna play good old BotF on MP
but we got Windows Vista and it doesnt work :( :( :(
we used the Full Version Multinstaller and tried out the Joker Patch like in the one Windows Vista thread we found told... but without happy end

BotF crashes when you want to continue after select TCP ... starting the host.... we waited a long time ^^

any suggestions ?
is there a thread we missed ?

actually there are tons of threads about this matter ;)

Ermm, I wouldn't wonder that your games crash if you used another patch after installing the MultiMod. Make clean installs with the MultiModInstaller, use the "Software" Video option, Hades options simply won't work with most Configurations. If you still want to use Hades, you will need to test it thoroughly first(at best with a Mod).

As for the TCP/IP MP option .... it works well in a LAN, but if you are behind a router, you better be sure to configure the necessary ports respectively, or you will never reach your friends you want to play with. Also be sure about the IP adress you are entering (WAN/LAN settings).

You could also try WarZone, which is a good alternative for MP hosting.

Maybe I should have written all that in german.
