New PC and BoTF

Post by Malcress »

So i wasnt quite sure what do do here... I have Windows 7 64bit on an Acer Icona 6120 ( http://www.acer.co.uk/ac/en/GB/content/iconia )... I have tried the Multi-installer what i get is just a blank screen, i have the curser and sound, that is it... there is no actual Video card on here but the interaged one in the Intel i5 m480, but the machine runs WoW fairly well... I love BoTF and have always thought that it wiould be fantastic on a touch screen, just goes with the theme o there tech... Anyways any help would be fantastic, thank you....

boft runs in 800x600 -- does your system support this (now small / low res) screen size?

EDIT did you try this?

Disable visual designs and desktop designs in compatability mode. that usually does the trick

what a weird resolution! 8O
BotF definitely can't handle that kind of weird resolution, your display and graphic chip have to support 800x600 resolution + 16bit color at fullscreen, else you only can try workarounds for getting botf to work in windowed mode.

If resolution is not the problem, try different graphic drivers.
There are more threads in the forum about graphic problems, maybe you can find something helpful. :wink:

good luck

@anjel

your monitor is still running the game in 800x600 whether your desktop resolution is 1920x1080 or something else as it's still able to display the old 800x600. (and it switches to it automatically - that's why it looks so damn stretched with pixels as big as houses xD)

indeed, this also implicated for me that his screen seems not to be able to display 800x600. I don't think you find other graphic drivers or that this display is able to display 800x600...

Good you had it going, I usually sometimes get a black screen and maybe the cursor. What I do is hit the ESC button or right click, that usually does the trick too.
