RIP Majel Barrett-Roddenberry...

[Weirdness]

Just read today Majel Barrett-Rodedenberry passed away at 76 after a battle with leukemia. She was the unnamed first officer in the TOS pilot, nurse chapel, and we all knew her as the computer voice, and as the ever-horny Lwaxana Troi. (I'd have done her! )

As a fan I will always remeber her for her excellent contributions to the enitre star trek franchise. RIP Majel!

I think that whole leukemia story is a cover. What I think really happened was she screened the new movie and it killed her.

Seriously though, she will be missed.

It is in the sadest of times that human beings can shine and show their humanity. I think if anything we should concentrate not on the loss of another member of our Trek Family, but instead upon hope for all.

It takes only a second to smile at another person when you pass them at the local grocery store, but can mean quite a bit and even change thier mood.

If we are not here to help one another and make life better for all, then what the heck are we here for?

I think we'll hear her as computer voice again, maybe if a new series will start in some years or so. I like the idea that she will live as the computer voice in Star Trek forever.

But she doesn't speak the fed computer voice in BotF does she? There is nothin' in the credits, though to me the voice of the fed computer sounds VERY similar. Maybe I'm just too used to her voice for the ships computers.

yep you're right its a similiar sounding voice. would be cool to implement some real "wav's" of her into the game. shouldn't be a big problem in my mind to do this!
