Thoughts on the new "Star Trek" movie

Movies suck for a lot of reasons. I don't think piracy is high on the list. More than ever, movies compete with each other with flashy visuals and CGI. That costs money. The only way to be sure they will get their money back is to make a "sure thing." That sure thing is usually sure crap. Same with popular music - instead of taking a chance on someone potentially interesting, all of the corporate money and backing goes to the lowest common denominator artists. Stick some pretty airhead in front of an auto-tuner, feed them some braindead lyrics and voila, you made millions of dollars. No creativity required.

I didn't buy Nemesis nor did I download it. It will be the same for this movie. I as the minority protestor am not even relevant, my dollar votes are not heard. All that is heard is the "cha-ching!" at the box office of another sellout product. The best I can do is rant on forums like these.
