Spamming You will like this
Well for the spammers here i thought id add something special for you.
Forum mod added just for you. Advanced Minimum Post Length
# Here you can change 9 to the minimum amount you want and you
# can also specify your own error message. Just change the
# 'Message is too short.' phrase to suit you. NOTE: 9
# is the number of characters needed to ensure that no single
# default emote (smiley) can be used as a response.
So a made it 150 characters to post reply that 2 or 3 good sentances long.
you will get
'Message too short, Stop spamming for increased rank. Now think of something to say at least 2 or 3 good sentances long.'

seconded.
150 characters are way too long. I need to fill it with nonsense if I don't have to say anything more. The "Vulcans" here (that naturally "compress" what they say pretty good) are in disadvantage since a short and crispy answer is seen as spam..
Besides, most funny comments are relatively short, otherwise they don't really have the desired effect.

thirded??!!
i don't think there's anything wrong with short replies. In real life some people talk far too much-to no point-it's nice to get away that, a needless long post could result in an ounce of good stuff and a ton of rubbish.
short and sweet thats my motto

Good, but I'd still say 0 until we are really experiencing spam troubles. Worked pretty well in the past.
I guess moderators in here are capable of detecting and warning potential spammers the old-fashioned way. Also I'd like to have that Anti-Spam-Mod to have an exception-set where trusted people can post without that minimum. If that ain't given, I still stick to jig's opinion.

Matress doesnt have a problem with this change. Anyone that saw his posts on BOTF2 will understand why.
Still, I agree with toroca, this measure could potentially kill some forum games. A rec area where this rule is removed would negate this issue but would then allow spam. Perhaps we should consider a rec area with autopruning every week or something?
