Cheats, tips, hints

Hi, I've found some cheats ecc on the web. But I play with DAEMON because my old cd-rom is ruined. How can i active those cheats ecc? Thank you guys

You can still use -Mudd with daemon as far as I know.

Just create a shortcut on your desktop, go to properties and in the target after C:\botf\trek.exe put in -Mudd. It should work but cheating is no fun in this game. :-)

look to the left @ Site Pages / Game Information. The first entry is about cheats. You find anything you need there.

hey i'm new to the site, i have been playing botf for a couple years now and have recently upgraded to vista, how do i use cheats on vista?

You would use cheats just like as any other operating system. Right click on you icon that you start BotF with. Mine is on my desk top, not shure if yours is.

Right click on the icon, go to properites, and where you get the location that says exe on it, at the end, add -Mudd, with the minus sign and capital M.

eg, D:\Botf\trek.exe -Mudd

Hello, I just registered to post the following hint.

By accident, I discovered how to set all ships in a group to target one enemy just 15 minutes ago.

Center the enemy by right click.

Get your ships orders.
Now, double right click the enemy ship with HOLDING the second click, then target him by left click.

Release buttons.

If all enemies have boxes around repeat.
The other boxes will disapear on success and you will frag one damn enemy for good without having to single target all ships on him.

This sometimes works on the first try, and most of the time at the second try.
Once you get the right timing it will get easier.

So train, try and reply.

Just learned that you must have at least 1 ship for command and control for this to work.

This probably is a semi implemented feature to let the command cruisers coordinate attacks, as said in the ship descriptions.

@Callahan

That sure saves a lot of time, compared to selecting each one of your ships individually to attack a single target... I'll have to try it out myself, but I'm not too sure I would actually use it often in battle.

Did some more testing and found out some interesting stuff.

First: Klingon Outposts work for command & control.

Second: Klingon cursor becomes federation one after right clicking two or three times.
A normal left click "special" targets single ship then.

Third:
Ship behavior changed.
I set some Vor'Chas on one of 3 escorts. They fragged it and then switched their disruptors on the other 2, killing them both.

On another attack on one escort and 2 cruisers, some of my ships went after the cruisers with their remaining torps and disruptors after the escorts destruction.
All my ships were "special" targeting the escort group.

Normally, my ships do not switch targets or even target groups if I set them to target one enemy manually - ship by ship.

It seems that "special" targeting increases effectiveness of the enitre group using it.
