I just re-discovered BOTF and I think the All Ages Mod is great. am having troubling loading the mod. When I hit build ships the game crashes. Using vista need help Please.

there is error in mod only build ships at minors works

I tried to install the multi and got an insert cd box

Multi installer does not know what a cd is it will not ask for one.

So I suggest starting all over with new files

here is link and how to install.

uninstall what ever verision of birth of the federation you have installed.

then
delete "BOTF" folder in the original install path if it was not removed by uninstaller.

first
download multi main installer 1.0.2
Main Multi Installer 1.0.2 download page

install "BOTF_1.0.2_English_German_b.exe" use vanilla install option and default install path.

No patches are needed They have already been added to new installer.

check to make sure new vanilla install is working properly by playing a few turn and 1 or 2 battles.

Now you are ready to download and install any other mod from this page.

Thanks for your time. Iam really excited about playing this trek game.
I was able to get the All Ages mod working, just not the Multi installer.
So, just so iam clear...
1. Multi installer
2. Botf 1.01.02
3. Mods
I have been making sure the botf folder is deleted after an uninstall.
Witch mod is the sites favorite. It seems like Dominion? How often are there tourneys?

Ahh, there is the error. Hehe should have read that before sending you the PM.

1.) Delete every BOTF installation from your PC.
2.) Install the Multiinstaller
3.) Install the Mod

Why would you install BOTF patch 1.01.02 over the Multiinstaller? Thats just wrong and not needed.

Just follow Thunders steps and you cant fail imho.

After uninstalling all btof material, deleteing the folder and restarting I proceeded to install the multi installer. I got an install aborted cannot find path message.

I did get all ages mod to work when I used btof 1.0.2 version

Thunder, tpatz is still fighting some deamons with installing the multi on Vista. Any advice what he can do(or has likely done wrong) when the installation gets aborted because of an invalid path?

OK got it! Mentat I sent you a long winded message explaining my tech inemptatude. For some reason I got All Ages to work...Anyway Got it to work right last night. Everything is running fine. Everyone on the site is really helpful no jerks I like it. Most of the time people don't want to take the time and educate a novice. Thanks
The dominion mod is really cool! Can't wait to play a tourney when I have the time of course in the words of Martaug from lethel weapon"I'am getting too old for this sh*p"
