Mentat "add on" will no longer work with this version until he updates files if possible :wink:

Hi thunderchero,

Yeah, I figured that :cry:

Was trek.exe edited so he could change the planet names?

Mentat problem was switching his map from race to race. when he switched it AI would still be in control. so he would need to create a map for each race the exact same.

True enough, but was the new trek.exe for UDM III changed:

Open trek.exe with a hex editor and at 0xFC2E9 replace the bytes there (0F ...) with 90 90 90 90 90 90

...so that Planet names in Minors can be changed? Or maybe that is a future plan?

no reason for this change. this was issue for changing major race planets not minors.

Note to self and info for others.
I have replaced installer conflict on warzone fixed. same link as before;

Link for new multi installer;
UDMIII_3.0.0a_b
File size 87.6mb
hard drive space required 624mb

changes before final release of this version;
edit starting population for normal maps
increase minors on small and medium to max on large map.

Hi thunderchero,

I have two questions:

1) I am assuming 30 starting minors. Are all of them space-faring?
2) More generally, is the Dominion balanced with the other major powers?

Thank you for the update.

Regards,

if you select many in options you should get 29 of the 30 minors, and no minor that are space-faring is unchanged from last version (10)

Give it a try and you tell me, :wink: This was attempted yes.

Out of the ten minors, do they all expand?

I will search the forums to see if I can gey more spacefaring minors...

Oh yeah, I am playing the Feds now. The Dominion appears balanced...not quite canon, but playable!

no minor expands to other systems.

more minor races could be spacefaring, but with current ships for other race. trek.exe is full. no more room.

Good morning. When starting a single player game with the newest UDM III version with Large Galaxies the game throws me back to desktop every 2 of 4 starting attempts. No error message. The crash happens after the race selection. Settings were Irregular/Large. Normal Galaxy sizes Version works fine. previous versions have been completely uninstalled.

Is minor shipbuilding already included or are the modified exes from previous versions still needed? I only ask because I got no option during installation as in All the Ages Mod.

also from tests I had of this crash it is due to placement of home systems when it runs out of room to place last system far enough away from other systems. and does not effect game play just creation of map for first time.

Also just an idea you might want to uninstall and redownload to make sure you have latest version (there has been 3) 1 was only posted less than one hour.

I am also hopeful final release of this version will be out friday :wink:
