Replacing Ships

I am slowing learning the modding process and have successfully modded a working UM3 Mod. I am using UE 6.5c to change ships stats. I am not real good with the hex editor but I would like to replace the Galaxy-X with a TOS-Connie I as easily as possible. Using Power Archiver, I add the TOS-Connie I gif and TGA file to the Stbof.res file. I changed the research required to much earlier, but when I load up the game, it still shows an untextured model of the Galaxy-X in the database, but it does not allow you to build it. What am I forgetting, and what is the name of the exact gif, tga, and hob files of the Galaxy-X so I can replace it with the renamed TOS-Connie I files.

You need to take a look at this topic:

I'm hoping the next version of UE with new features (0.6.6) will make adding ships much easier, but until then you'll need to follow that guide.

Thanks, will do :)

I'm basing it on your ship packages, but them having a texture.lst file will probably be mandatory to make sure UE takes the right textures for the right hob files and a palette.lst file will be optional.

From the link posted above thunder can i assume that the klings will be getting a few new ships in the next mod??

@JBL, for the next update of UDM III, we are indeed planning to add some new ships to our Klingon friends... ;-).
