Here is another update on what I've done so far:
I've taken a look at the shiplist and condensed it down to the most important ships to comply with the current list of required shipclasses for this mod.
Then I've taken a look at the obvious gaps in the list and designed my own ships and fixed installations to fill them.
For both the existing and the new ships I've looked at the principal design aestetics of the SFB Gorn and the thoughts behind the designs.
Since some of the ideas behind the ships are not compatible with modern Trek, like that the power for the ships is generated inside the nacelles, I made a few changes to make it work again.
As a result designs like the BDD look a little different from their current SFB incarnation.
Gorn ships have a central hull, which contains the primary power generators for both Warp and Impulse.
The wings contain the impulse engines and the main shield grid and sensor array.
Shuttle hangars (doors at the top) and cargo bays (larger doors at the bottom) are also part of the main body.
In front of and behind the main hull, the Gorn attach so-called bubble sections that contain most weapons (for differences about that from SFB see my previous post), both beam and torpedo-type.
They also feature additional power generators, shield emitters tactical sensors and most of the crew and command facilities.
Note on the names for those of you who don't know:
The names given for the ships are not the names the Gorn give their ships, those are the designations given to them by Federation intelligence people.
Of the most common warship hulls, there are two versions, a light and a heavy version.
The differ in the amound of bubbles attached to the main hull.
The first ship you will receive is the Carnosaurus, which will serve as your basic scout. In SFB terms this is the Carnosaurus-s.
At first glance it is identical to the destroyer, the Ceratosaurus except that it is lacking the rear bubble.
However the textures will show that the Caratosaurus is a real warship while the Carnosaurus has multiple senror arrays on the bubble section.
Scout/Destroyer:
Length: 173 m
Width: 82 m
Height: 53m
There is little point in two images for almost identical ship so were the destroyer, note that since the wings and the nacelles mark the outer edges of the ship, the scout and the destroyer have the same measurements.

With the Light, Megalosaurus, and Heavy Cruiser, Allosaurus, the situation is fairly similar.
The Allosaurus has more of everything, this includes an additional set of tactocal sensors on the rear bubblt to give it better tarteting capabilties to all sides.
Light/Heavy Cruiser:
Length: 260 m
Width: 100 m
Height: 55 m

The Dreadnought, called Tyrannosaurus uses three cruiser bubbles and features a short hull between bubbles A and B that contains the impulse systems while the longer one between bubbles B and C contains the warp, shuttle ans cargo facilities.
Dreadnought.
Length: 332m
Width: 143m
Height: 65m

The nextpair of ships is a new design of mine.
In SFB, there are not supprot hulls I could use so I had to create a new basic hull and the required modules fill the Troop Transport and Colony ship slots.
The design is atmospheric capable and has larger than usual wings that contain big impulse engines.
The Colony Ship, called Thalassodromeus, is...ugly yet functional.
It has two large sensor/deflector arrays to properly map and scan a planet to determine the proper course of action to terraform the traget.
Since this is TOS and somewhat more primitive than TNG-style Colony Ships we usually see in Botf, I went for a look that showed the need for bulky equipment to get the job done.

The Troop Transport, Liaoningopterus, uses a more stremlined forward hull to get down toward the planet more quickly.
I thought about what would make up the ground defense value.
Not merely soldiers on the ground but everything from AA missiles to small Phaser/Disruptor batteries to armed shuttles and aerospace fighters.
So you need to get your trrops down quick and safe

This little baby will land where it needs to land and when it opens its large cargo doors you will see something that will make Klingons drop their disruptors and Bath'leths while running for cover: an entire army of angry Gorn soldiers coming at you with sidearms that will make the .5 Desert Eagle look like a toygun.

Size of the support ships to be determined at a later date.
There is very little to say about the Outpost and the Starbase.
I mean they just hang there, extend your range and shoot at the bad guys.
Size unknow at this time.

The ships will receive a refit to the movie era, just like the Federation ships, with the deflector dish vanishing inside an extension of the forward hull and new warp engines on familiar nacelle pylons.
The Battleship is a bit of a questionmark at the moment.
The Godzilla Class will mist likely appear at the end of the tech tree, so she will not have a TOS incarnation.
She's basically what you have seen of the dreadnought just the hull and the bubbles are 50% wider.
A few special ships are possible but it has not been decided yet which ones are in or out.
So now for something more colourful:
We've agreed on a set of textures for the ships.
The big ships, Cruisers and above, will use one that emphasizes armor, so will the stations.
The destroyers and the supports each will receive a different one.
The one for the supports will be designed to reduce friction in a planetary atmosphere, the destroyers...we'll see
So here the look of the larger ships shown a heavy cruiser:
Note the tactical sensors on the front bubble behind the deflector, sensors and shield grid on the wings.

I can promise this is not final, the textures are still evolving as are my skills (I hope

)
I hope you all enjoyed my little preview and I hope you are all as exited about this mod as I am.
