Random ' Food / Farm ' bug

Post by severenth »

As the game progresses, in different systems after a turn is processed, a system will produce a single unit of Type1 Automated farm, and remove the working units for all the other farms, except the one just produced, this of course causes starvation in the system.

Has anyone worked out who what when where how or why on this situation?

hve to say i've never seen this one over the years.

is it possibly a result of modifications you've made?

This is because you have two types of farms built at the same time. Scrap one type and it won't happen anymore.

This can only happen on minor race worlds and is probably a bug of the mod you're playing.

It normally happens at around 400turns plus

It happens in mods AND vanillia, and not due to any additional mods i've made

Yes, scrapping the 'odd' one does rectifiy it, but it happens on colonized worlds as much as minor worlds

Interesting. I only ever saw it on minor race worlds.

I thought it had something to do with starting technology not being set right. Must be something else then. Could it be caused by auto building if you used it? Or maybe a positive morale bonus (extra building built)?

Actually, that sounds like the possible culprit
Or maybe a positive morale bonus (extra building built)?
In my game, i've got the highest possible morale, building the buildings, and it seems to fit in with this

I personally dont use auto-building, so I think we could confidently say its morale building buildings.

I'm getting this every few turns, but then I've also been bribing away from other empires

Can we assume then that the bug occurs when
> Bribe a minor race from another major empire
> Your empires morale is so high, that they build extra farms

its easier to scrap the problem farms ( the type 1's or 2 ) then you can use what was already built and resume your previous outputs

its just a pain in the ass
