most of the time windows 7 has very little issues running game.

first you could review suggestions here "Windows 7 problems/solutions"
viewtopic.php?f=23&t=1289

are you trying to use DxWnd? or was this just the first topic you found?

It might also help if you could explain your issue in more details

I installed the copy of botf and it just won't load up at all. Nothing comes up as the screen just goes black once I've loaded it up for the first few seconds and then it just sends me straight back to desktop. I have heard that a patch is suppose to solve this problem but not sure where it is located.

first thing would be to edit stbof.ini
change the line with
MOVIEON=ON
to
MOVIEON=OFF

save then retest

if that does not work then try
SOUNDON=ON
to
SOUNDON=OFF

and test again

Hi Everyone

Just like to say thanks for making it possible for me to play my favourite Star Trek game again, really appreciate all your hard work.
I'm having a problem with UDMIII
I downloaded the Multi installer with my manager Firefox and that works fine,I am using DXWND to play vanilla but UDM crashes to desk top straight away when the opening movie begins to play (the battle clip from DS9),
Any Help would be appreciated.

Hi Thunderchero

Thanks for the quick reply.
There was no data in my crash folder, but I browsed threw all the post and I found out I missed a step.
I missed the part saying to turn off all combatability boxes in the properties window.
So long story short UDM seems to be running fine.
Again thank you for all the work your doing, your a god send.

Got just a quick question:

Due to AMD driver issue I'm just downloading and reinstalling affected mods. But when I launch them using DxWnd fullscreen the game appears in the upper left corner of the screen. What DxWnd setting am I missing here? Thanks in advance.

what resolution? mine has also been having this issue, but is to due to my monitor no longer supports 1366 x 768. 1024 x 768 was displaying normally, but now having it on all resolutions. but you still can adjust to simulate fullscreen

select mod in DxWnd you want to modify right click entry and select "modify"
on main tab check
"run in window"
"Fullscreen only"
"desktop"

now the issue using this configuration is if you take a screenshot image it would be at desktop resolution. So DxWnd is stretching game to your current desktop. With this configuration game does not look as good as it did at proper resolution.

if you want to keep aspect ratio check the "keep aspect ratio" box.

Desktop Resolution is 1920x1080. I applied the settings you mentioned in DxWnd but game is still displayed in the upper left corner of the screen.

here is my vanilla dxw file to try. just use file\import to import file and new settings would be last entry on list.

Downloaded and tried fullscreen with and without importing your dxw file. Fullscreen was modified. Still no luck.

how fortuitous, here is new version of DxWnd (just released 5 hours ago)

it worked with old dxw on 1024 version, but on my monitor 1366 versions still went to top left :neutral:
dxwnd Fullscreen.zip
(2.25 MiB) Downloaded 194 times
note; shortcuts created by main multi installer will not work unless DxWnd files are in same location. :wink:

NOTE 2; if it is not one thing it is another..... on new version of windowed you need to now set installed width and height in "window initial position and size"
