Glad to see it worked for you also(I know it works for vista 64 and win7 64 not sure about 32bit). What I do is play in software most of the time and only switching to direct3d when I get a combat crash(in my current game only 1 in 99 turns, I started at tech 3 for the game) then switch back to software after. A little inconvenient but not too bad as I keep an explorer window open to udml folder all the time and that way the ship research screen works most of the time.

And yeah the ai ship power is awesome(only play on hard too) as the feds I bribe, bribe & bribe and build starbases as fast as I can(with planet scanners, seems to make the ai keep its ships out of scanner range giving time to react) and while the minors level one ships really suck they do make your power meter go up so I'm currently finding the romulans while hating me won't attack me even though my 30 minor ships(1/2 my fleet) would die real fast to them and would barely scratch their shields.

I just experienced the first Combat Crash with Direct3D about 100+ships and an outpost, it crashed when I wanted to select targets.

It genrally seems to work fine though, I just fought a battle with 100+ ships on each side against the god-damn federation so 200 ships total :D won, but it was a close call (have 9 ships left), no more fleet though =/

Is there any way to speed up the turns? it takes FOREVER to process a turn (~turn 100) Although my computer is very fast. I know this has been a botf problem but with this mod it takes 3-4 MINUTES.. :?

The reason it take so long is there are so many AI calculation to be made after you press turn. but the biggest problem is how many AI ships there are in the game for the AI to move.

So kill AI ships is best way to speed up turn time. or eliminate empires, So win lol

Hi people,

Me and my brother just playing Ultimate Dominion Mod III 3.0.1db, we use the program mpr + + to play for the mod can.

The following problems has come to: Where it comes to the main battle between the two of us (Cardies vs. Klingons), about 800 ships in total.

If the 3D menu will fight it crashes immediately. Here are some crash logs:

I would say you already know what the problem is :roll:

Also posting complete ogre log is pointless. only post last few lines if they start with error. your log has no such errors so it looks to be BOTF related not ogre related.

Also there is no need to post duplicate posts

I get a crash to desktop when I click Object Database Ships any ship in the list.
Is there anything I can do?

Hi Everyone,

I have a updated normal version (800 x 600) of UDMIII 3.0.1dc

UDMIII_3.0.1dc.exe

There are only 3 major changes from version db

1. 1024 x 768 will be a separate install

this will prevent random crashes from 1024 x 768 version

2. Shipyards in aibldreq.bin removed

this will slow down AI ship building and put back turn process time to very close to the same as version c

3. recloak removed from combat commands

this has been prone to cause crashes in combat when used.

And for those who still want 1024 installed I have created a patch.

This file will only work on version UDMIII3.0.1dc

This is not suggested for MP use.

Being able to play in 1024 resolution is great, but I think that 3.01c is one of the most stable versions so far. The 1024 versions had issues crashing to desktop,
and in 3.01dc the ships in the object window for research are very small.

1024 is not required and already noted it will crash with some drivers and not suggested for MP uses.

Also in my and other tests 800 x 600 3.0.1dc version is just as stable as 3.0.1c version.

as noted on version db this was done in advance for future releases once MPR++ is ready for next stage of testing. But also makes a large improvement in combat by speading out the ships to ship distance.

Haven't played botf in over a year. Logged onto site and downloaded new version but can't get the multiplayer to work. No game listed to connect to in game selection screen as a joiner. Like we're not connecting? Never had any problems with the older version of UDMIII. Has anybody else had this problem? Thanks
