Gowron should get all the credit here

I spend 20 min adding files to "multi mod installer creator" 30 sec to create each one, And an hour uploading (only 40kb up speed)

And my wife is getting jealous 8O

*rents the biggest Hall of Warriors*

*orders a superb building company to create a statue of Gowron there in life-size*

*assembles all forum members and current visitors in the hall*

*starts a klingon warrior song*

and finally animates the whole hall to raise their fists repeatedly and go like:

"GOWRON GOWRON GOWRON!!!"

There you have it. :) Hope you enjoyed

thunder we'll do the same for you tomorrow at Starfleet Headquarters :)

lol i know what you mean about this game taking over your life...
Just lately i've been waking up at 4am thinking 'Oh S**t, i need to add this, edit that...' and so on.

I'll download and give 1.1c a whirl later on then :)

Well, here's some good news: I was able to change the sound ID pointers in converse.bin, so the next version of BoP will not include modified versions of english.snd resp. german.snd, because they're not needed anymore :)

But now to something completely different:

I've uploaded a beta version of trek.exe for BoP (to be installed over v1.1c) to my 4shared folder. Just install BoP v1.1c normally, then replace trek.exe with the beta version "BoP_beta_XXL_1.1c.zip".

This beta version has modified map dimensions for "large" galaxies:
50x36 squares instead of 25x18 8)

Some notes:

The zoomed-in view already seems to work well.

The zoomed-out view still has some problems: Ships, ship ranges, territories and system bonuses will be displayed correctly, but the small star pictures and the system names are misaligned (switch off system names when zooming out).
Still, clicking on any sector will display the correct system at the botton of the screen.

Irregular, elliptic and ring galaxies look "normal", spiral galaxies look a little bit odd.

The star frequency reference value has not been changed yet, as this is just a test version. So galaxies will be a little bit empty.

Also, the game will run slower than with a 25x18 map.
A discovery consists in seeing something everybody has seen and at the same time thinking something nobody has thought yet.

I've just downloaded the beta .exe and couldn't get it to fire up. I've already tried downloading it a second time in case the first time was a bad/corrupt download.

I've copied it over the existing .exe in the Balance of Power folder but every time i try it attempts to start up the game but lobs me back onto the desktop, and predictably the crash log has nothing in it

Ahm, disregard my last comment. Think i was using the wrong versuion of BOP

I downloaded the version of 1.1c that you have to install the files manually and i've got it all working now.

By the Hand of Kahless Gowron you've done it :D

So what needs to be adjusted to get this new trek.exe to work with the Multi-Mod version of 1.1c? thunderchero made adjustments to the last few, I believe.

What do you think i've been doing the last hour?

I risked the cremation of my dinner to have a quick spin on here

Seriously though, Gowron's an outright genius :)

I wonder how this'll hold up in MP....
