I am enjoying a Fed game (Enterprise) and progressing along nicely... bug seemed to resolve itself!

Getting a recurring crash to desktop that I think is associated with the screensaver. Always happens when I have been afk for a bit.

The only thing I've encountered that bothered me about this is that the database entries for the new buildings and minors still point to the old entries in a lot of cases. I know they're primarily just flavor, but it's flavor I enjoy and thought I'd point it out in case there's still any work being done. Other than that, It runs smoothly, seems well-balanced and in all other respects is an excellent mod!

Is Stardust still around? I was wondering about getting permission to update the mod. Tried a PM but no response yet.

Stardust was just on a couple days ago. He's not as frequent a visitor as he used to be, but he's still around.

Hi all, this mod looks fantastic, have not had a chance to fully get into it yet, but it looks like what Botf should have been from the start. Just one thing I want to change is the background image on the galaxy map back to the original, can any one help?

If you've downloaded the UE program you can use it to get the old images back. Open the stbof.res file, then edit -> other -> files. Make sure you've opened the original program first, then extract cm_glmap.tga, hm_glmap.tga, km_glmap.tga, rm_glmap.tga, and fm_glmap.tga to someplace like your desktop. Close the UE and reopen it with the stbof.res file in the AAM or AAML folder. Go to the edit -> other -> files again and then add those files back and save it.

It worked, yeh ha , only thing I had to do was use the larger maps from the dominion mod to get things going. First time I used the UE. Again thanks Brian, you have been a great help.

Yeah the UE program is great. I've been tinkering with the All The Ages mod for a while with it now. I've made a few changes that I'd mentioned earlier in this forum. I also tried some things like making the Edo Guardian and Echo Papa 607 cloak. Some changes work better than others. Once I get permissions from people I'll see about uploading the mod.

why not just start your own mod instead of editing a current mod? if you read here most modders will not allow others to release edited versions.

Also if you read here stardust has mentioned he was working on updating this mod any way.

Well part of the reason is that I would want to do a mod similar to Stardust's and I want to give credit where credit is due. Even if I started my own mod with a different basis, I'd likely have to use someone else's work as a template for galaxy figures or planetary make ups and I'd feel that anything that I got from someone else's work should be credited for it. I am a little behind the times when it comes to programming and rewriting code. I used to use BASIC a lot back in the day but I kind of became obsolete once Windows95 came out and I switched jobs to something less computer oriented. I can still find my way around for the most part but sometimes I just look at the screen with a blank stare.

I guess if Stardust says no or doesn't answer, I'll still play what I have and I'm not out anything. If I try to start from scratch, I'd feel like I have to relearn about everything and this soon to be grandpa isn't quite up to task.

Im loving this mod, love the ships and various starting periods, TOS is my favourite. Some of the changes I will try to make using UE will be to reduce the power of the outposts and starbases, a player could be tempted to build the Maginot line in space as they stand. Perhaps increase ship maintence costs up for empires. Love this game.

You may want to change a few things with the UE, fed command cruiser has a torp range of 140, I changed it to 1400. Cards tactical cruiser looks a bit sad for what you pay, Klingon battle cruiser does not upgrade, when I think it should. Minor ships I think are overpowered, player can exploit this by building these ships rather than there own, perhaps they need equal power at a reduced maint cost , you would still build them, but they become more of
a fleet supplement.
