Can the original game be modified to work on tablets?

Hi guys I love the original game so much (and some of its mods) I'd like to be able to play it more and I think it would benefit from being touch screen as well. Can It be done? Has it been done? Is there a way to get it on my kindle?

there has been a video with some guy running botf on his tablet so yes it is possible
however botf is not designed for tablet use, e.g. ship movement is problematic I think
further botf requires quite some resources, specially when playing mods with extended large map
but I can't tell how to set it up on your tablet or if it works with kindle tablet at all
look into getting directx7 games work on your tablet

kindle have there own OS and doubt if you would be able to get a windows application such as BOTF to run. So a windows based tablet would be best.
