AFC Vs. Federation Reborn? Sure. Not a problem. Me and my chars are on the FR side though.Dr_Breen wrote:cool STO for free. I'll sure give it a try now. Well we still have to wait for january 17th but then we should create a big afc fleet and pwn some subscribers :-)

Yeah Tethys, you were right. Anyone who hasn't previously subscribed will still have to wait until Jan 17th to play! The early release was only for people who had subscribed and let that subscription run out.

when it comes all the BOTF vets from here and the MSN gaming zone should pick a server to play on
There's no need for that.
Unlike WoW STO has a cluster of servers and heavy instancing but you can just switch between those instances
and it gives the feeling of one large server.

400 free Cryptic points a month and unique perks for every 100 days of membership, even though their quality differs between the two factions.

Re: STO Free to Play :D
Personally I'm not into this whole fleet thing but in my case for example it was not possible to create an account using my BotF nick so I had to settle for one of its phonetic counterparts "mister_dee" but if you really intend to make some kind of "BotF veteran Fleet" have you considered making a list who's got which name in BotF and who's got which one in STO?

Re: STO Free to Play :D
I dont really plan on going into a fleet, I wanna be more of a pirate I think Unless the fleet allows multi-fleet membership
Re: STO Free to Play :D
I'll keep an eye out for the U.S.S. Blackbeard.
Well you can of course also make friends with others meaning you can keep in contact with them via the ingame chat, team up for missions etc without forming a fleet.
Actual piracy in general is currently not possible.
There are however the Pi Canis missions on the Klingon side which you can repeat more than once a day where you have to blow up a Starfleet drydock and disable enemy convoys ferrying materiel for the enemy and capture their goods for the glory of the Empire. It's the only thing coming close to that IMO.

this is how imagine Tet: http://piratelazytown.ytmnd.com/ xDDD
I remember playing the beta. It was pretty much fun to team up with others and blowing some shit up. Especially if you're on the same n00b lvl.

Well, I've been having lots of fun with an Engineer in a Raptor on the Klingon side, perhaps I'll do something similar on the Fed side but use a ship I actually hate for this:
the Fleet Escort *shudders*

This way I could inflict my general grumpyness flying around in those things onto others.
*EDIT/Addendum:
at some point some of you might end up trying out the Klingon faction and you might also read a few comments on the Klingon Forums
to prepare for some of the unhappy and resigned comments read this and you'll understand why:
