Japanese Version of BotF Available?

Post by Spocks-cuddly-tribble »

I thought it would be funny to give it a try. So is the japanese version still available, and does it include japanese voice overs?
I don't know how many bugs is too many but that point is reached somewhere before however many in BotF is.

I don't think there was ever a Japanese version here is the quote from the readme.
This update fixes a crash problem in Tactical Combat. The game would sometimes crash in Tactical Combat as the ships were about to fire their weapons. This update solves that problem by replacing some of the animation files. This problem has been reported on computers running the Japanese version of Windows.
so it was a windows version problem.

Pity, but thank you for clarification.

I remembered a third language referenced in the assembler code. But it's spanish, @-asm 493CC3 & 49401D, and was certainly never realized.

No in the original code it has code for a spanish version. But I have never heard of any such released version or files produced by microprose.

Unfortunately, thunderchero is correct.

Language codes are: (planned / unfinished)

0 english
1 german
2 spanish

But we have never seen any spanish speech-, text-, gui-files or trek.exe labels (would be a nice variety).
