I have no idea. I guess we can be busy with life.

Well I saw this on the net yesterday, but guess it was posted ages ago. See if anyone can confirm. Is there going to be Star Trek:Captian Work (name in progress)? Wasn't sure how to take it, if it was real or not.

I noticed not much activity but I figured what HsojVvad mentioned. I know there are periods of more activity and periods of non-activity. I was thinking of starting a similar thread with anyone still alive? ;-)

As for me I have been pretty busy lately.

Hi Everyone,

Or at least those who are around.

The site has regularly experienced inactive periods throughout the years, But I have noticed those inactive periods are lasting longer these days.

Lets take a look back, We saw the most activity back in 2008 - 2010

2006 or 2007
Major breakthrough; how to add Phasers to new ships

2008
Major breakthrough; ability to increase shiplist/ Multi installer created (1.0.3 "ECM" project started)
was a very busy time, development of UDM 3 was well under way(as well as many other mods), UCW 1.00 released, Gowron was releasing new code left and right for BOP, with SCT. UE was getting updated almost daily. The first Multiplayer tournament was held. (2 tournament in 2008)
last time siggi visited site Sat Sep 06, 2008

2009
Major breakthrough; allowing larger galaxies.
UDM 3 released (first version), BOP 1.1 released, UCW 1.02 released. AAM had first release, Galaxy mod development was started. SCT, Dcer and Gowron were posting patches almost daily. More multiplayer tournaments in 2009 (4 in 2009)

2010
Major breakthrough; allowing more tech levels
Final version of BOP released (1.2), AAM final version released, more updates of UDM, Galaxy mod first version was released. SCT was still putting out patches regularly. we had only 1 tournament in 2010.
last time Gowron visited site Sat Nov 06, 2010

2011
Major breakthrough; increasing resolution, MPR++ project first released and energy screen project.
In 2011 we had no tournaments :???: Many mods had updates, and SCT was still releasing many patches.

2012
the final site sponsored tournament took place. but had very low attendance. A few mods saw updates and MPR++ was progressing nicely.
last time Dcer visited site Wed Jun 27, 2012

2013
Major breakthrough; MPR++ v0.2.6c (main fix for windows 8 mouse lag)
In 2013 we had no tournaments :???: few small updates to mods, brianmcfa starts remake of AAM, And I start remake of UCW.
Major site up date thanks to cleverwise.

2014
???????????? we need to make history to keep this place alive.

lets get some mp games going... udm3 in its' latest incarnation is the WICKEDEST (is there such word?) game ever, on super large galaxy, gentle and I have had a blast testing it. Life is busy, last mp we've played for over 2 months with up to 4 weeks no game breaks... busy lives, but this game needs this site so we all need to do better. i'll try.

it's early in the year, but I agree it's been quite silent lately
activity decreased over the years and I fear it'll keep low for a while
when you know something to talk, go ahead
e.g. post some screens of your games and keep us updated
when there's nothing to talk on botf and trek maybe lets start talk some more non-trek related stuff

Not this link, it was something else, but same stuff. Now it's on 2 sites. :P It must be true then. lol I hope it is, love Worf. Maybe we should make a new thread for this?

well, on my side, i´ve been studying so to finish once and for my career, for the last year ro so, and i´ll have busy days ahead too. But never forget to visit the site from time to time, when i´m able.
I´ve started a new model even, the Merian Class, and i owe a skybox and a Dominion mpr++ video to flocke

I´m really glad the site it´s still going on, with the freezed time lapse but that´s ok, rl will be always be in top priority.

Keep posting guys !!!!!

well the point is , that what we do is modifying a 15+ year old game.

15 Years!
i was 12 back then and playing this with a schoolmate. then, i think it was around 2006 or something i started getting deeper into modding games (not only botf, more in general)

i guess our main issue is, that we won't gain a reasonable amount of new members anymore, because nobody will suddenly digg out a 15 year old game he has never played before.
in the meantime the current members have grown up and are perhaps busy with important things in live. i've noticed it myself, earlier there were times where i spent every afternoon / evening in fiddeling with botf. now i hardly find the time as i'm busy with a job, finishing my studies and other things are starting to get really serious as well. thus I'm somewhat not dealing with botf anymore even tough that was never my intention. i once tried to get into it again by doing some coding (my final goal was to understand enough of it in order to get into reverse engineering)i even made some progress and wrote a few programs i found useful, but there was a point where i didn't get any further because i just had nothing to practice on, nothing that would have kept me busy for days and weeks. some years ago that was different as i had ef2 back then where the source code was available and i loved playing around with it. unfortunatly that game died and now i'm more or less only busy with general chat part of the forum.

well, times change. perhaps we need to diversify the forum a bit. get into other topics, i don't know
