best set up for an old game, need advise

Post by ruthlessferengi »

I need to set up home network for botf to play with now finally grown members of the family... will be used just for botf, nothing else. recognizing that botf has many built in limits on what it can use hardarewise, what is the ideal (not necesserily most modern) set up for this game?

so is xp best config?
is single core all i really need?
2 mb vs 4 mb ram? newer ram be too confusing for botf?
onboard graphics vs basic nvidia card is all i need? stay away from ati?

thanks

I would say this

XP or 7 (just keep all the same)
x86 (x64 systems just uses more files to accomplish same thing)
2.0 ghz dual core or better
2 gigs or more memory
hdd 200 gig would be more than enough.
onboard graphic should be minimum (ati or NVidia errors were mostly driver related and you don't know until it is installed)
onboard sound

funny thing is, I just described my old laptop.
