Yeah, that definitely looks like a bug. Weird; I've never seen/heard of that one before either.

yeah saved game is corrupt, I suggest starting new game

btw please do not use flickr or any other image hosting service, attachments are allowed here.

flickr policy could change without notice and prevent image from displaying. we are already experiencing this problem with image shack.

Here's the save. I've been cheating a bit to get the hang of the game. I've used the -Mudd cheat, and hit F10 once every turn. Could that have influenced it?

Maybe I don't have the latest patch then.
Is this what I should have used after the CD?

Anyways, thank you for all the help.

So the install order is
CD
Joker's Patch
and I should skip the 1.2 patch?

Can I install Joker's patch over the 1.02 patch, or do I need to uninstall and reinstall?

My computer for the purposes of the game is a dual boot Windows 98SE/Windows XP computer. Most of the time I'll boot XP as it is needed as a print server (though I don't print very often, usually just more copies of my resume as I'm currently looking for a job). I still occasionally might boot Win98 to play other games.

So, the game needs to run under both 98 and XP, just in case the patch FUBARs 98 the way the Jane's Fleet Command XP patch does. I know I've got another game that has a similar problem but it is the only one I can think of off-hand.

joker patch was for compatibility for XP, so if you run game on XP
cd first then joker patch

but if you are going to reinstall just use multi installer only (no cd required also)

you will need it once you start playing mods any way

For those waiting for a reply, I've got a lot to do tomorrow, err today. I'm not going to be able to reinstall until at least the afternoon and probably not until the evening. Given that it's 2am and I can't sleep, I may go to bed early.
I have promised to go help my mother with some projects as she can't do maintenance on my childhood home due to a bad knee and deteriorating health. Here I thought I was done with the chores on that house after I finished college. Starting in a month and a week most of the weekends will be taken up doing the leaves, just like when I was a kid only I doubt I'll be getting an allowance.
