Hi Everyone,

It has been several years since we have had an update of the main multi installer

here are my proposed changes

1. remove hades option
2. restore 512 x 512 original texture (option during install of better textures)
3. retreat/evade crash fix to hobs (option during install)
4. patches such as message errors fixes (option during install)(this needs to be discussed on what ones)
5. gui errors patches (option during install)(this needs to be discussed on what ones)

those are only changes I am thinking about, if you have other suggestion lets discuss them here.

Note: any change should/will not effect mods already released.

That all sounds good to me. I think any and all crash patches should be added period.

I wish we had more patches to prevent crashes. but that is only one I know of.

I just went 270 turns as klingons with about 100 combats and assaulted 10 systems took out the borg and Calamarain using dxwnd without a single crash.

as for gui patches just the basics
Fed redeploy screen error (fix)

Intel Empire screen - dilth/total systems (fix)

Cardassian Intel/Research display (fix)

Star-names display (fix)

Romulan buy button fix (fix)

Cardassian territory-pic bug (fix) By: Joker

in past discussions it is a very fine line. one persons bugfix/error, is is the next persons exploit.

I can see that if you are adjusting ship values or something but how in the world can say fixing the Cards system be an exploit? Pffff....

Patch a way! In my system admin podcasts we have the following saying: "Patch your S!" .:. It isn't always shortened either!

I was not talking about the gui patches I listed above

most bug fixes effect game play in some way. even message withdrawn fix, was it an error or was it done for a reason by developer.

Odds are an error. BotF was clearly rushed and has many bugs. Yes I know no software is prefect or 100% bug free but it is clear there is code for things that was never completed. Buggy sofware BotF is. Sorry wrong sci franchise.

but this needs to remain the base of all mods current, past and future.

I still have not even setup for any changes yet, but think I will keep it simple

changes to backups (english.res and german.res)
original mpr files only (no hades option)
restore original 512 x 512 textures

options during install (checked to install by default)
Vanilla Evade/Retreat Crash hob fix
Improved textures and build image
GUI fixes already listed above

Any other fixes/bugs/exploits can be added with QD's patcher quickly. and if needed patches can be created quickly also.

any ways we already have Error Correction mod for all the fixes and bugs
