Whem in combat mode game has a tendancy to crash.
I play on an ancient Toshiba Equium A100-147.
System is Windows XP Version 2002 Service Pack 3
Rest of gobbly gook is
Genuine Intel(R)CPU
T2050@1.60GHz
1.60GHz. 1.99GB of RAM
What sort of computer is best and though I love the basic game(is that what Vanilla meams???)what basic mods should I go for.

Re: Newbie
If she got you the original CD "frame it" before it explodes in cd rom (many user have reported this really happening)jagzpanzer wrote:Help just got a replacement copy of a game that I last played over 10 years ago.My thanks to my wife for an unexpected wedding aniversary present.
but I suggest using the multi installer. This is full version of original game and allows installation of mods. Plus has all patches pre-installed.

over the years patches and fixes have allowed game play on all modern windows operating systems. So it is playable on any version (with help)jagzpanzer wrote:What sort of computer is best
the term vanilla stands for the original/unedited version 1.0.2jagzpanzer wrote:is that what Vanilla meams???

Re: Newbie
I cannot thankyou all enough. This game was pre xbox and though l now play Destiny on xbox 1 I have been playing botf in preference.
My copy is an original in manafacturers cd case and it would seem it might become damaged in the driver when playing.
How do I go about making a copy and which format should I go for???
I must confess to being ah hum mature and virtually computer illiterent.
I paid a computer geek £ 45 to install and get working the game.
He used a hack ,no idea what but would this affect making a copy?
My son now wants a copy , he reckons it looks briilliant and he's never watched a star trek episode
Again my thanks
