Homeworlds

Post by Korth »

Vanilla 1.0.3 (and same results on unpatched BotF 1.0.1 installed off CD) -

Why are some of the homeworld planet numbers (names) out of order?

Cardassia system. Yellow Star. 6 planets: Cardassia 2, Cardassia 1, Cardassia 3, Cardassia 4, Cardassia 5, Cardassia 6.
Romulus system. Green Star. 5 planets: Romulus 1, Romulus 2, Romulus 3, Romulus 5, Romulus 4.

That's an interesting post. I'd thought the homeworld systems were generated (assigned) nonrandomly and these "anomalies" in planet naming/numbering were either oversights or deliberate choices.

And odd to me that the planets in Sol system are all named but other known homeworld systems (like "Romulus" and "Remus", second and third planets in Romulus system) are not. Memory Alpha says "Cardassia Prime" is the second planet in the Cardassia system, which I suppose might explain the strange Cardassia planet numbering in the game. It looks to me like another one of those little features the devs never quite finished before game release.
