Mod Installation advice

Post by TheDonz »

Firstly guys, this site is epic.

many thanks to all those who have put effort in to keep this great game up and running.

back in the day we used to play 4 player BOTF on our LAN Saturdays! giants maps did take all day and if you were first out boy did you get pissed off.

but I digress, i'm going to return to BOTF again tonight as I do every few years, always managed to get it up and runnignin the past but it looks like this time will be a lot easier thanks to the resources available here.

i've always played totally vanilla and have no real need to install any mods for content but i'm looking for advice on what to install to help stability and compatibility - basically the ones that would be considered updates if the game was continued to be officially supported

so which mods/settings should I choose to keep the game as vanilla as possible but also stable and the battle sequences working in some form other than as a powerpoint presentation would be nice?
i'm running win 10, intel CPU, Radeon GPU, 1600x900 screen.

many thanks guys and keep up the good work

Welcome to the forum TheDonz,

you should install the "All in One" installer with Dxwnd, this will allow smooth game play on windows 10 and comes with all patches and nocd required
https://www.armadafleetcommand.com/get- ... le_id=1958

with the addition of the hob patch "vanilla" original un-modded version is more stable in combat now.

you could also try Error correction mod (included in All in one) here is a link to the changes SCT made

For more info on the other mod available on the All in One installer check out this section

thanks for your donation
